    Didn't they even try a lit match at one point and it still didn't blow up? Might have been a different myth. I recall buster on a toilet in a gas filled room dropping a lit match in a toilet. Oh wait, maybe that was a gas filled toilet instead. :confused:

    I was referring to static electricity caused by getting in the vehicle while pumping gas, then touching the nozzle before touching anything else.

    Which is why you touch the door frame or something metal while getting out of the vehicle.

    Now THAT I could see maybe happening... I've gotten some pretty good shocks getting out and closing the door. But still, that's long before I slide the card, turn the pump on, or even touch the nozzle. And why would you touch the nozzle?! Hell, you touch metal and ground out just opening the filler door.

    The problem is stupid bitches that get back in the car while it's fueling cause their cold or they gotta check their hair or some stupid shit like that. Then they get back out, pull the pump out, and BAM!

    i saw a woman trying to get a jump right beside a pump on base one day...and a guy was setting up the cables before he was stopped and the car was pushed out into the parking lot.
