That would be a garden spider. They are harmless to humans. I've had a couple in my garden the last 2 years. They are very good at eating the bugs in my garden. They get pretty big too. He will re-make his web every day. Pretty cool actually. (as long as your not afraid of spiders)

It looks very different from the garden spiders we have though. And being afraid is an understatement for me. :anonymous:

    hi chris, steph.

i had a spider that looked just like that with the exact same web (solid vertical line). When i did research on it, they called it a garden spider. They don't get that big (7") here because they die in the winter.

That makes me need my reading glasses. If I zoom it enough to where I can see it I see about three characters. Thanks for teaching me though! :woot:

I do not understand the question since I am not all that familiar with Vancouver. We did a tour bus that makes stops around the island. We had lunch at the Granville Market, it was so good and the salmon burger was to die for. We also did the aquarium at Stanley Park and the tranquill gardens in Chinatown. We only had the one afternon to look at the sights.

Actually I did not see that specific building. After looking at some of the stairs leading up to the houses I doubt that I would enjoy the climb with two bags of groceries.

The sea walls were very interestion. Lots of starfish, sunflower starfish and sea anemones on the walls. We even saw an octopus on one of the pilings.
