i need a bit of "know how", im trying to take apart my center counsel because i would like to route a cable from my glovebox where my ipod interface is to the first little compartment thing in front of the cup holders in my center counsel... im planning on just drilling a little hole in the bottom or the compartment (just enough to get the cable through) and then weaseling a little grommet in there for a "professional installation"... just dont know how to get it apart to get the cable to that point?

Take a look in the audio/video section. Look at either the stickys or you might try my thread on installing a GPS unit, which involved taking apart the same stuff.

Very easy. I just did this when i built my console lock box. The plastic surrounding the shifter, including the rear single cupholder, just pulls up. You can use a plastic putty knife to keep from scratching the console. It's tight but easily to pull up. Once that's out you need to remove the 2 10mm bolts from inside the console and the 2 phillips-head screws holding the console to the shifter housing. Here is where I messed up. you can't just pull the console out. The front (where the 2 screws were) has to lift up about 1/4 to 1/2inch then slide backward. you'll see when you get it apart that there are plastic hooks that lock into position when you put it back together. It'll take you less then 5 minutes.

    Good luck.

just make sure you unscrew the shifter knob before pulling up. that way you can get it off.

If it's the one in the very front, pull the black divider out, then pull out the tray - get your fingernails under the front lip.

If it's the rear ones, they are part of the whole silvery section, which includes the portion around the shifter, etc. get your fingernails underneath the lip and pull upwards.

His thing on the left says auto, but the process is still similar at this point.
