They will stick out just a little more than your stock wheels, but not past the fender flares, they will fit just fine, and look great on tacoma's

One more question...after extensive research....I'm finding that you need a VIN from a FJ Cruiser. My neighbor has a FJ Cruiser. Could I just use his? Or is this really that big of a deal?

Toyota locked up those wheels pretty tight. Good luck, but I doubt you will be able to get them unless you go used or get the silver ones...

What's the big deal? I mean Toyota can make money here. Not sure why they are so locked down. I know I'm coming way late into this though. But do you think it would be a big deal to "borrow" a VIN?

The VIN won't be registered in your name. Even if you do have a VIN, they will only allow one wheel to be purchased unless you have an insurance claim proving that all 4 wheels were damaged. Last I heard, they needed photo proof also.

The reason they are locked down is to protect the investment of the person who paid the hefty price tag for the Special Edition FJ.

Well after reading about a million threads on here about this....my head hurts btw....I'm just going to start blanket calling Toyota Dealers across the nation. I see many people on here just calling different dealers, ordering them and that's it. Showing up on their front door in 5 days. Not sure how some are having a hard time, others are not.

    My journey and patience continues....

I wish you luck, but it isn't the dealer. They want nothing more than to sell them, it is Toyota that blocks the order. When I was buying mine, I would have a dealer tell me no problem, then 3-4 days later, they would say that Toyota blocked the order and they didn't know why (I knew why because of reading all of the threads on here). Anyone could get them before September of last year, then the restrictions were put in place.

Mkay....guess my best bet is to wait for some used ones...or find some decent replicas.

I thought you could get them without a VIN now

    I have no clue.
There is a Toyota dealer back east that will sell them. I think they were $125 each. There is a thread on here about them, let me see if I can find it.:D

That thread is really old. They haven't been able to be purchased since September 2010 without a VIN.

The dealer will tell you no problem and try to order them. I actually paid for 3 different sets from 3 different dealers only to have the dealer tell me that Toyota Blocked the order.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I just wanted to let you know so you don't get disappointed.

I'm going to try it on Monday. If it doesn't work out, at least I can cross it off the list that I did. Thanks for all the info fellas....

Left a message for Conicelli yesterday...called back 15 minutes ago!! Very nice...very informative...but like mentioned above we need VIN.

He said Toyota has them locked down because these stupid Tacoma owners....:) are swapping them up and putting them on...so when it comes time for a true FJ owner who has them originally and they need one due to a wreck or some other circumstance..it costs a ton to make. So there. He said Toyota may open them up again, just have to keep your eyes and ears open.

    My search continues.

If your set on getting the dark gray wheels, have you considered getting a set of the silver wheels and having them powder coated or even painted?
