shackles look well crafted for sure...they are now on the radar as a possible future mod if no other shackle options arise...

anyway to develop a shackle that fits in the stock mounts that will increase droop?

like an L shaped shackle that allows the spring to come forward more? i hear an issue with these mounts is that any extended shackle will end up rubbing on the frame so maybe the L shackles will also see this issue when they are compressed...

    anyway, welcome to TW

thanks, they are the one and only .

there is no way to make a tension type shackle that will increase droop, keep the oem soa config and keep all the oem mounting points. the eye to eye distance is still the same no matter what the design.you would basically have to "preload" the leafspring in full droop to increase the arch. which would theoretically slow down droop travel !now rebound can be taken out to compensate but the shock length is the next limiting factor .

what you want is a spring under axle conversion "SUA", thats the only way to get more droop with the 2nd gens. and you need more bump than droop.my kit is also the only kit that uses the oem leafspring mounting positions. if you need more droop than that you need to link the rear

i dont know where your getting the information that my extended length shackles contact the frame but that information is false. my extended length shackles with delrin bushings will not rub the frame. if they for some extreme reason do contact the frame , it means your shackle buckets are bent. it can happen with stock shackles too, which is why my shackle bucket brace is a must for any 2nd gen tacoma owner
