Okay ppl..i am a little confused on UCAs. Why to TC ones cost 700 big ones and Allpros cost 450?? Advantages to them? whats the big design differences it UCAs?? How much better do they actually help?

With a extended coilover, it will gain wheel travel 1-2" , and this will be a Midtravel.
Just the arms, they are stronger, smoother cycle with the uniball. And the uniball is allowed to be at angles farther than the Balljoint when Lifting higher than 2.5" inches. I wouldnt mine having a set of Allpros or Total Chaos upper arms. Both companys have good service and product.

uniball allows for more articulation off road and smoother wheel travel at highways speeds. Plus the fact that you can better align your front end with a uniball as opposed to a balljoint, less binding and wheel travel are also advantages
alot of people will argue that stock ucas are the strongest you can get, but you're right, when lifting the ball joint becomes weaker because of the added extension provided by more than 2.5 inches of lift. If OP just goes with billy 5100 up front and a leaf pack or aal in the rear he will not need new ucas
i recomend camburg, TC is a good choice as well, but camburg has improved their design recently with a 1" uniball, minimal to almost no binding with 3" lifts and the price blows tc out of the water

Thats right, theres not point if hes gonna run 5100's, even with my sway away coilovers at 3 inches of lift with stock UCA , im still good. I wish i had UCAs. I guess ill just save for long travel.

I didn't just go with billies, i have them but i have Eibach coils, so i have a lil over 3'' of lift. Plus in the rear i have wheelers 5pk with a AAL in it and 1.5'' shackles. Definatlly over 3'' there.

Im just curious as my ball joints look like shit and like they are REALLY bent over. ill post a pic

It would be a good idea to get new ones but its not really necisary. They would just help your truck flex better :D

I think UCAs will be my next mod. Not TCs and not All Poos though. Probably the 1" Camburgs.

My buddy has the APs and they work but are noisy. He's constantly having to put that teflon lube on them to quiet them down. Not sure if it is a design fault or just his. And the TCs are just too much money.

Last time I looked, wheelers had the Camburgs for $529.

Well i was just using allpros for the "cheaper" brand and TCs for most expensive. Have read Camburgs are quite good tho too.

I think i might add these to my list of "to do", i think it'll just help in the long run i guess. I'll end up with Camburgs or TCs prolly.

A lot of the price has to do with the size of the company. All other things being equal, a smaller company that sells less product will have less of a buffer to re-coop the R&D costs, so the cost the the item will be more. There's also a higher likelihood that the products are hand made, not mass produced (also increases cost).

That said, the design of all the UCAs described have many differences that effect the overall cost of the item. Uniballs are expensive to produce, but offer more possibility for articulation, and are beefier than stock balljoints.

    my two cents...

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I just installed my TC UCA's on Saturday and it's night and day over stock with amount of travel you get. Just to get my 5100's out we had to stand on the rotor and after installing the UCA's the extending travel FOX CO's went right in hell i have to push up on the LCA to line the bolt up. If I were you I would get the Uniball UCA's.
