Toytec C/O -To UCA or not?

I will be driving mostly on road with the occasional trip with my dualsport in the back - just easy forrest roads at best. Do I need the UCA to get this thing alligned? I don't think i will miss the additional travle for $600. really not in the budget but i don't want to set myself up for a headache - also i have my wife and son in the truck often and do't want stability issues or shakes on the highway.

looking to do the same thing, but 3 inch lift, i wanted spacers because its so easy,mine will be 99% road too, just want 28's under it.

 

I also want 3". I have spacers and blocks right now for 2.5" in front and 2" in back but want a better ride out of the new set up.

 

What block setup do u have, is the ride bad with the spacer set up?? I would think it should ride just like stock since your just lowering the coils down. The only difference, is that i want to do a AAL pack in stead of rear bocks. you have and pics of yours with your current set up. Do the tires rub at all? thank

 

The answer is no, not really. New UCAs aren't required when you lift. I rode for 20k miles with the stock UCAs and a Toytec 3" 885 lift. I did not experience any abnormal tire wear. Alignment wise, your caster will be out of spec without the new arms and you may get a "loose steering" feeling when driving the truck.

Thanks Delmarva. That is what i was looking for. hell, i feel like i already have the "loose steering" feeling every since i lifted the truck. I was sort of hoping that a proper lift (c/o and new progressive pack with shocks - not spacers and blocks) would address this problem and make the front end feel more solid and "tight"?

 

And it will always feel that way until I get aftermarket uca's?

 

Yep. The stock UCAs just can't physically be adjusted enough.

 

Is there a popular fit for the Toytec C/O?--- Camburg? Icon? Saw? TC? Looking for economical since the truck does not see much off road action. I'm just looking to improve the ride quality a bit AND increase payload. This set up was well researched but I never considered uca. Doohh! Blows my budget all to hell.

 

guess I should have been more specific. I undestand that better suspension will not "increase payload". I guess I should have explained that I would like to carry more than 4 sheets of plywood without bottoming in the stops over every bump. Or carry my dirtbikes without riding a wheelie - in the truck!
Hope the ome springs from wheelers (cs047) will fix this as they have 2 overload leafs. Heard good things.

Anyway - now that we have cleared that up. Common uca with Toytec?

doug at toytec worked up a deal for me for the coilovers and the OME rear springs/shocks but i do not see the TC UCA on his site?
any contact info for Jon at Downsouth?
i will try to hunt down a good deal or i can not make this happen.
