ARE TC UCA REALLY BAD?

    So close to having my truck (2009 4x4 AC 6spd) 3 inches higher

    New wheels/tires ....check :) (BFG AT 265/75/16 and American Racing wheels)

    Lift.....check :) (full ome with tsb aal and 884 w front spacers)


    Last thing to pull the trigger on is UCA. Been doing some research here and am looking at Light Racing or Total Chaos. From what I can tell...LR Are CHEAPER but keep salt out better, but TC are more money and rust our.....now I'm now genius but why would someone pay more money for a product that seems to get worse reviews than the LR UCA?

    Money is not an issue, and to be honey I like the finish on the TC UCAs... Are these reviews about the ball joint rusting out true? I really would like to go with the TC but want to get a little more feedback first.....

    I have had my LR uca's for quite a while and have had absolutely no problems out of them. I used to have Allpro's uca's which were good but I had to replace the uniballs once and they still squeaked so I got rid of them for the LR's. Definitely like the LR's vs the Allpro's.

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    The only issue I've seen with the LR UCA's is the initial set-up. If you don't have them set right alignment can be a bitch.

    My TCs haven't rusted at all. You gotta spend a few mins and lube/clean them every 6 months or year...but that doesn't bother me.

    Folks do like the LRs as well.

    You got that right. But between them being submerged for hours in a lake (while I was boating), and having concrete dry on the uni's, they've been tested pretty good.

    Yeah...I drove thru an area of fresh concrete, and realized it got all over the UCA's and Uniballs, and everything else, so I waited a couple weeks before cleaning it off.....Never realized how tenatious concrete can be on paint.......

    Yeah....I found a great spot to park, and didnt want to move it. Ive done that a few times :D People wont fuck with it when its in a foot and a half, or so, of water.....maeks it easy to load the boat when I come back too.

    Sounds pretty bad, but my boat only has a 1.5' draft, and the water was up to the rear tail lights.....so about 2.5' deep or so....
