    You guys ever try and scent it somehow so it always smells fresh? Maybe a spritz of cologne or something, maybe febreeze?

    Home Depot sells an in home air freshener that sticks to your house furnace filter. You could probably cut it into a smaller size to fit on your cabin filter.

    I went over 100k miles on my truck before I thought about checking to see if my truck had one. Had heard the 05's didn't have a filter on the early models. WRONG (in my case). It was as bad if not worse than the ones in the photos. Got my filter from Walmart for a few bucks. Direct OEM replacement. Also available on Amazon for the same price but no tax or shipping if you're a PRIME member.
