Warn Winch Part number Question...

Hopefully posting this here will serve me well...

I have been researching Warn Winches over the last few weeks and I've decided on the 9.5xp.

However, I've noticed that when I search different sites there seems to be 2 different part numbers.

68500
and
69502

Does anyone know the difference?

The Warn site itself only lists the 68500, but I've seen multiple other sites with 69502...

I found this on the Warn website:

PN 69502 9.5xp winch - special design to fit the H2 bumper. 12V, 100' wire rope, hawse fairlead.

How different could it be from the other 9.5xp listed as PN 68500?

I have the 69502 installed on my '09. I have an All-Pro front plate bumper.

The differences are:

The 69502 is supposed to be installed feet forward on a Hummer H2. This doesn't matter as the winch installs just like normal on my All-pro. The clutch is right there. If you wanted to you could turn the assembly and move it further back, but it's not an issue on the All-Pro bumper.

The 69502 comes with a hawse fairlead. The 68500 has a roller.

The 68500's controller interface is right on the selenoid cover. The 69502 has an external connector for the controller. Same interface, just has 6 wires out of the box and a pigtail for the controller interface.

The positive cable off the controller and the ground cable off the winch are long enough. Just the F1, F2 & A cables need to be lengthened depending on where you install everything.

The cables are pretty short on the stock 69502. Not sure if it's the same with the 68500. I went to a welding supply store and got 3 6 foot #2 cables with a bunch of copper lugs then cut them to fit.

 

Thank you for the info. I am also going to put this in an All-Pro plate bumper. I searched around some more and found the parts lists for both winches. Looks like the 69502 has 90" power leads, which are 18" longer than the 68500. As you said, the interface is a little different but also relocateable. The other difference is in the clutch lever end, and the lever itself is different.

The whole reason for my figuring all this out is, I can get the 69502 $400 to $500 dollars cheaper than the 68500.

I went with the 69502 Warn 9.5 XP, got it for $978 shipped.
