Just tint and ppl for now.
Although not such a grumble but more of a deep scraping sound... did you check the heat shields above the y-piep to be sure they are not hitting the pipe when the motor flexes? On both of my installs, the heat shield needed some manipulation to stop the rubbing.

We also pulled the dealer's vinyl sticker off of Mikes truck and painted some of his badges as a test to see if he'd like it. I think its a go...so we'll finish his up next time.

I dontthink the heat shields are touching but I'll check that. I haven't installed the skids yet so it's not that.

Just get in there with a screw driver and bend all of them up and out of harms way. They are basically tin foil. real easy to bend. In my case, hard to tell what was hitting at idle or when the engine is off... only happened when load was on the motor.

Also changed my wheels today. Those sidebiters were backordered forever, so I just switched up to the Classic II's. Hopefully its a good fit. Shouldnt be a problem w/ 4.437 backspacing and 0mm offset, right?

They are really nice looking rims. The backspacing will be fine. Cant wait to see pics of them installed.

Windex will bubble? I always used a heavy dilution of soapy water. Throw some high temp silicon on there to help seal it up. Not sure what else would be making a sound like that aside from an exhaust leak

In park too, but most noticeable when driving. Also happens in reverse so at first I thought it was the tire rubbing something but it's not.
I'll take a look at those shields when I get home today and I'll mix up some real soapy water to spray on the flanges.
Just to confirm with you Boyd.. You didn't take the heatshield off of the stock pipe and install it on the new pipe right?

Yea I saw what you removed on Friday when I was searching for a pic of that spot I called you about. Couldn't remember if I saw that heat shield or not.

You think the exhaust wrap is necessary?

Alright good enough reason. I'll take some next time I see you. How do you feel about the exhaust clamp? The instructions said the get it welded but I like the fact that if it's just clamped it can be taken apart.

Side note- I checked on some kayaks from ems and all the 12' rentals have holes on them. Some group rented them and apparently dragged them down the road and wore a hole in the back of the keel. Were waiting on repair kits.

I wrapped mine while installed because I forgot to do it before hand. A little bit of a pain.

Exhaust clamp is fine. Weld is always better though... especially if you are going to have clearance issues with the ATO skid.

Havent seen it, but it would probably look good. Less noticeable too if its color matched. Shouldnt be too tough to do either.

I hate to admit it but I did check the tsb list just to be sure :D

I don't think it's just the sound.. It seems like something really is rattling or something.

The exhaust is really loud now.. I took a girl out to dinner last night and she wanted the windows up and ac on.. My first time driving with the windows up since I installed the y pipe. When accelerating from a stop it's almost too loud in the cab to have a conversation.

Pap- I think you mentioned one time that you angled the chopped exhaust back instead of just down after the axle? Did that help with the sound reverberating under the bed?

Yes, for me, that helped a tremendous amount for the drone inside the cabin. I am running the TRD muffler though. so, it may be a little different. I have the angled piece clamped on so, I can take it off and let you try it to see if its any better at RC.

    Heres a pic of it
