I am new to this site, and i have a 1997 toyota tacoma 2.7L 4 cylinder 4x4. I was thinking about putting a new muffler on that i got from a friend, but i dont know how it is going to sound or if the mpgs are going to go up. Need some help, some comments would be helpful. The muffler i got from him is an aero turbine 3030.

Put the inlet of the muffler in your exhaust tip wrap acloth around it and crank it so you can hear the air flow

IIRC that is an 3" inlet/3" outlet muffler, you really don't want to go more than a 2.5" dia exhaust, if you want to retain/gain a little power.

it all depends on what you want. if you just want the sound and looks, then just get the muffler and a tip. if you want to gain a little power, get a whole catback system

It's only a 4 cylinder i think its going to sound more like a car would than a truck. It's an aero turbine 3030 muffler
