ATV Loading Photos

I normally tow one quad up to the mountains, but I needed to take two today. I managed to get one Arctic Cat 400 in the bed and an Arctic Cat 500on my trailer. The widths of the quads are 47.5” and the weight is about 600 pounds each. Towed it without any problems, but was not sure if the truck could handle both.

 

The size of your quads make the size of your truck look a lil silly.

 

it proves one thing, our tacomas can handle most anything thrown at them!!!

 

Anyone seen the pics going around of the new Tundra tailgates when they load the wheelers on 'em. They are buckling and failing really bad.

 

I've seen a picture of a quad being hauled on the roof of a Geo Metro hatchback. That was pretty ridiculous looking.

I won't make a habit out of taking two quads, but is did suprise me that a little truck was able to tow two large quads......and there was no damage to the tail gate or the wheel wells, but it was a tight fit between the wells....

 

it shouldnt amaze u u were only towing around 1500 pounds. if a truck cant tow that it is pretty much useless.

 

This may be so, but you have to see the whole picture. I don't just see 1500 lbs. I see not one, but two massive quads all up on that little truck. It is a site to behold.

 

Not an ATV but here my old bike in the back of my truck.

Someone else posted the weight of quads are evenly distributed between the (4) wheels, so this may be why the tailgate suffered no damage. I was surprised the wheels even went between the bed wells because total width of quad wheels are 6" wider than wells , but since the air pressure in quad tires are only about (5) pounds, they are soft enough to make a snug fit....

I was so happy when i loaded my honda 400 on my truck and it fit between the wheel wells. that was always such a bugger to pick up and push on my ranger by my self. I have towed 4 quads with mine already. 3 on a trailer and one in the bed. No problems at all.

 

Why, The tailgates can't hold much weight. One of the main reasons to buy one of these is to tow my bike to the track on the weekend. I have a sport bike. What usually fails on the tailgate, the support that hold it level or the hinges at the bottom?
