The coolest thing about my truck i just discovered!!

So yeah, most of you are gonna laugh at this, but i just discovered that the steering wheel telescopes!! I always knew it adjusted up and down, and have always thought it was too far away, so today after adjusting it up from where the old lady put it, i decided to pull on it, and presto, the thing came out a couple of inches!! Problem solved. Its funny, i just never thought to check to see if it was telescoping!! Yeah, feel free to laugh now, and for those of you not laughing, yeah, it got you to didn't it, lol.

 

Yea, I remember a thread like this a while back. There is a small lever under the steering column, coverd in plastic from the factory. If the wheel moved when you pulled on it, the lever probably is a little loose. Push it up to lock the wheel in place.

 

I didn't even know it telescopes.

 

Even with the telescoping, the wheel is too far away.

Just one more reason I won't be trading in my 2003 for a 2nd Gen.

Its cool finding out new stuff about your truck....The day I found the little pockets at the bottom of the rear seatbacks (made to hold your seatbelt buckle when the seat is folded forward),I was so pleased that I had to share.

I was adjusting it cuz the old lady lowered the wheel so she could drive, so i already had the lever actuated, but i just decided to pull outwards this time, so it wasn't loose, but thanks for looking out dude, would have sucked if i was driving and it was loose.

The coolest thing about my truck is that I can run stuff over... debris in the road, rocks, garbage cans, Geo Metros, etc.

 

^Great name. And I agree, but you haven't lived until you've rolled over a Prius. The smell, you know that gasoline smell... Smelled like... victory.

 

dude...you must be pretty short or something....sorry no offense i'm pretty short too...my friends like 5'0 even and she can drive my truck...the steering wheel comes pretty far out...
