    So I've been talking to a few folks about what to do for my 3 inch lift...and I'm confused more now.

    The first idea I had was Toytec Coilovers and TC UCAs, Billy Shocks for all 4 corners, and the rear AAL.

    Then I saw some OME set ups I liked and thought about the OME 885s with OME springs and TC UCAs in front and the OME shocks in back with the AAL.

    Then I thought well...Can I put OME shocks in the Toytec Coilovers?? (cause I've heard good things about the OME shocks) Am I better off with a OME Dakar leaf pack in the back??

    What is the right way to go...And at this point-I'm not going to do anything right now cause I have no idea.

    I guess this is more of a rant then anything- Answers to my two questions and suggestions and feedback would be appreciated. Maybe it'll make me feel better....Who knows.

    Coilovers = :thumbsup:
    TC UCA = :thumbsup:
    Dakars = :thumbsup:

    You can't put the OMEs in the Toytec C/Os.

    I should put in that first post that Del pointed me at the Dakars and now I've been thinking about it since I got his message last night.

    I went with an OME kit from Cruiser Outfitters for the simplicity. I was stuck like you and the kit just made my decision a bit easier. Very happy with the results.

    I'm in the same boat! I know I will get the TC UCA's and I have bilsteins for the rear, I just need to figure out the front end, I've talked with chris 4x4 and he is very happy with the OME 885 with OME shocks up front. I already have this kit in my garage I just need the shocks but I sure like the adjustable coilovers....Just need to decide I guess.

    My preferences are based upon changing the front lift on my truck again and again... I should have just bought coilovers the first time... would have saved some $$$

    I actaully just found Camburg UCA's for less than the TC's...And I like the look of them a bit better. So I'm making it harder on myself.

    Chrisx4 had good things to say about the OME shocks...so I think those with the Dakar pack are going in back...

    and I'm leaning more and more towards the Coilovers- I know they have to be re-built from time to time....but I like the look and performance I've seen...plus it's so much easier to bolt them in....AHHHHHH.....Decisions Decisions:rolleyes:

    I think what's holding me back on the coilovers is I want 3" up front, and from what I read the coilovers ride best a 2.5" I want the truck to sit as close to level as possible and fit 285's. I know the Toytec coilovers are adjustable to 3.5 just haven't heard anybody speak up if the ride is too stiff set at higher than 2.5"

    If you've got the moola, Wheelers has a package deal with camburg coilovers and either camburg UCA's or TC UCA's . The one with Camburg UCA's is 1559 + shipping and the one with TC UCA's is 1599 + shipping. I also looked at the sway a way coilovers on Wheelers web site they are priced close to the Toytec's.

    The higher you crank the coilovers, the more stiff they will become. Just like any spring. The OME lift fits me as I dont mess with the front of my truck much. I wanted 3", and I wasnt going to ever adjust them. The OME shocks are a low pressure nitrogen charged twin tube shock. Twin tube holds more oil, and helps keep the shock cooler, longer. The bilstiens are a high pressure mono tube deisgn. The Toytec coilovers are Bilstien 5100's with a threaded adjuster on the shock. The spring used is a 600# Eibach spring, 16" long. The OME spring is a 16" 590# (885) rate spring that is made by OME. You cant go wrong with either set.

    I think I've got what is confusing me into one question...This is killing me cause I want to do this right.

    What make the OME set up NOT a coilover?? I understand that the OME spring/shocks will lift the truck 3 inches and that is that. The TC and others can be adjusted. Is that the only difference??

    (I'm leaning towards the OME up front and the Dakar with OME shocks in the back) but I've heard a few folks say "I started with a spring lift but went to the coilovers and it was better" much like Del mentioned....And I'm wondering why that is.

    Sorry to make this thread painful....

    Moct coilovers are adjustable. To adjust the OME's you have to take apart the spring/shock combo, and you can adjust them with shims, but only a littl bit.

    Okay...If that's the only difference...

    I'm going with the OME set up on all four corners- Looks like Wheelers has everything. I'll have to do the math.

    Thanks guys!!

    Make sure you get an OME trim packer for the driver side. Its a 3mm (or something like that) shim to set the truck level from side to side. :)

    Thats actually the ICON IVD C/O's. But yes very good price. I am currently working a deal to get the Camburg 2.5" C/O's = to the Icons. Because I just like that red coil look, stands out.:D

    I believe any coilover set higher than 2.5" may indeed be a bit rougher than 2.5", the prefered hight, but should definately out perform any 3" spacer lift.

    Also, Toytech C/O's gets lots of good rep. But another possibility to consider is rebuildable C/O's, such as Icon, Camburg/SAW, and Walker Evans... Just a thought.

    This is a good setup, I have the same setup on my 4dr SB was a pkg deal with ARB bumper and winch. Got the OME setup though for $1500 from the shop that I had put it on.
    Been real happy with it so far and I haul quads around a lot with trailer. The ride is great still and much like factory.
    Have not had a problem with steering wonder yet cause I have the stock rims and tires. But will purchase UC arms once I neede ball joints replaced. Good excuse to replace it all:D
