Strange Problem on my Tacoma from I don't know

I have a 2008 Tacoma SRS automatic transmission.

when I completly stop I feel a blow(hit) on the back of the truck, as if someone had crash me. actually when the problem happend strong the truck push me like someone give a bumper kiss.

i really dont remember my dealer explanation but what i remember is that I was no happy and still no happy. what i remember is that The dealer they had to grease a piece in order to reduce the problem, someone who can tell me what to do, or used to had the same problem.
I still have dealer warranty so i can claim them

when the grease the piece yes the problem reduces. but is like an aspirin for someone who needs surgery.

I'll really appreciate your advices

I also send a mail to the Toyota because i read about a Recall on the Power Train Driveline to see if apply with my truck, im lost I dont know what to do.

Actually, I feel something similar from time to time. Right after I come to a complete stop, the truck feels like it finally shifts into first, and sometimes this moves the truck forward, only it doesn't actually roll forward. It feels like someone tapped your bumper from behind. its weird.

Any thoughts? Wasn't there a transmission TSB or something? 2009 Access Cab 4x4 Auto.

 

I thought I was the only one this happened to, but I have a standard tranny. Seems to happen after using reverse, I added an AAL so I know everything is sound back there but it still happens. Very strange occurence, happens so little it catches me off guard when it does.

First thing that came to mind was maybe the A/C compressor just happens to be kicking in? I unno...maybe it is axel warp...

 

It kind of sounds like your transmission might have dirty or low fluid level.

My 93 4Runner with an automatic had this same problem with dirty brown transmission fluid. I changed it and this problem went away.

And just to clarify, I thought axle wrap only happens under acceleration on straight axle vehicles such as our Tacomas?

 

I agree with Myname150, I was thinking the A/C as well.
When my compressor comes on, I feel the truck surge forward; if I have a light foot on the brake the truck will move.

 

I've never seen axle wrap while decelerating, only accelerating in low traction....

It's probably the A/C. It's a well documented thing, search here and TN for more info.

 

x3 for it being the A/C surge at a stop. Happens all the time, extremely common, not going to blow up your truck

 

I think i get the same thing op describes, try rolling forward a bit after you stop, i find it takes off much smoother when i hit the gas.

 

I have the same problem... It has to be the A/C compressor because as soon as the fan kicks on the truck feels like it is pushed from behind. The first few times it happened, I thought the person behind me ran into my bumper.

 

Not sure on the 2nd gen tacomas but 1st gens get this a lot and it's to do with the two piece drive shaft slip yoke sticking. But i dont know if your 2nd gens are 2 piece or not... Just a thought..

 

My money would be on the AC compressor as well. Turn off the AC and do some driving to see if that's the issue.

I think i feel the same thing but i have a standard transmission. I always thought it was gas in the tank sloshing around when i stopped? Never seen inside one of our tanks so i dont know if there are baffles or not

It's the A/C kicking on - it happened all the time on my '07.

I haven't really noticed on my 2011 but I'm sure it is still there.

Axle wrap or your slip yolk. This clearly has nothing to do with your A/C. The clutch kicks on heavy, and is very distinct in the FRONT of the vehicle. Mine used to do the same thing when I bought it and went away after enough off roading. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

 

This is a common problem on 4runners and lexus's. There is a tsb and replacement program for the lexus.. but not the 4runners. figures..
