AR-15 BS Thread

Talk her into a pellet gun first. It's funny, the day before my son was born, my wife bought him a lower which I commandeered and subsequently sold so I had to replace it.

 

You usually use two hands?

I do want to get a nice lower and stow it away for him though. How old is your boy now?

mine is about to be 1.5

 

I tell my wife that he might not be able to purchase one when he comes of age so I'd rather get it for him to be sure.

I like the Gunfighter CH. Of course, I don't have much to compare it to but it came highly recommended and I am happy with it. Its got the medium latch, the large latch seemed too bulkey and the small was just, well, small.

 

Scored a lightly used Vltor casv-mt for $150 yesterday. Only has one idiot mark but it''s not too bad.

Well shoot me some ideas! I'm open for suggestions.....just what I found that looked like the style I want.

 

this was my first AR. I bought it lightly used for about 750. The gas key came lose after 300 rounds...

Do you have a local mom-n-pop gun store?
go to them and buy a lower reciever, they run anywhere from 80-150 bucks, make does not really matter.

then get one of these kits. and put it together, there are tons of youtube videos on how to put them together, or you can probably have your local shop do it for a fee.

with these kits the only thing you have to get locally is the lower reciever, thats the "gun" part. and a rear sight.

I have a Bushmaster AR-15, keep it clean with any brand and it will perform. Should mine fail I have few other things for back up. I would like a Colt one day though.

 

Hell yeah. I'll have under $500 into this COMPLETE 10.5" LMT/Vltor upper. Gonna put my 552 on it.

 

This was my first AR as well. It would short stroke all the time until I got it fixed. Sold it.
