sliders got delivered to my friends business yesterday. going to pick them up tonight. stuff for diff breather is in and skid should be waiting for me when i get home as well.

what do you guys think as fars as paint goes for my sliders, rattle can em or spray some bed liner? i made another thread but it seems 50-50 as far as which people are voting is best. seems that bed liner is a little more durable, but paint is easier to touch up. im leaning towards just painting them then adding some grip tape to the the tops where someone would step on them.

rattlecan bedliner is a beautiful thing. the only times that stuff gets scraped off of my sliders is when whatever i hit actually gouges the steel.

Paint = easy and cheap. They WILL get scratched to shit no matter what you use.

Does the bedliner actually make them a little less slippery to use a steps? I have no intention to use them that way, but I'm sure passengers will

They both scratch off bed liner holds up a little better than paint iv done both I found that using engine paint and hitting it with some heat to bake it on holds up pretty good

picked up the sliders today, they are freakin sweet!!!

and the ap ifs skid was on my doorstep when i got home as well. its beffier than i was expecting, well see how it holds up i guess.

for the sliders i got some paint from tractor supply yesterday, its made by valspar and is supposed to be for tractors and implements so its supposedly tougher than regular spray paint. just trying to decided if i should go the bed liner route instead.

perfect, the more firewood and free ice the better.

painted the sliders today. kind of a PITA to be honest. i probably missed a spot or two in a corner or something but once they dry over night ill start flipping them around and making sure i got everything.

decided to go with the tractor paint i got the other day. after going back and forth it seems like both will peel, its a matter of which will peel less (probably bed liner) and which is easier to touch up (probably paint). that being said i went with the easy touch up route. i also thought that if i end up hating the paint it will be easy to just spray some bedliner over it. spraying paint over the bedliner though i dont think would leave a very nice finish

also took my front mudflaps and trimmed a few inches off and put them back on. this is their last chance, if they rip off again they are going in the trash.

and more thing.... do i really just use the four tiny bolts that hold the stock skid/splash shield thing up to attach my all-pro ifs skid? looks like there is six bolt holes in the ifs skid, so am i missing something? remember i only have an sr5, no trd packages. does that make a difference?

I always bring as much of both as I can. Worst case scenario... you leave some wood for some happy 4wheelers that will need it, and you let some ice melt. Damn I cant wait til this trip!!! havent been to rc since it was cold and rainy!!!

IDK about the ap skid. ato used 2 small bolts and 4 larger bolts. just find how it lines up and then see what holes the bolts can go in, and then figure out what bolts you have will go in there. should be all stock hardware unless it came with some ...

    Nice! what kind of tent?
Haaaa... skids... Well I have the ifs skid and should hopefully have my gas tank skid. (craig is going to see kevin this weekend and will bring it up for me)
Cant mount the transmission skid (as you know) with out the t case skid.
Cant mount the t case skid because i dont want the exhaust flange sitting on the cross member, and the bolt on sliders are in the way of the cross member.
Sooooo... Craig is also bringing my old t case skid to kevin, who will then make me a new one 5" longer to solve my fitment issues.

Maybe Ill have full skids by the fall?

Well I work at eastern mountain sports so if you need a better tent anytime soon, let me know.

The only 2 times Ive been to RC its been the worst rain ive ever camped in.

Boyd chopped up the flange to get it to clear it, but I knew even if I did that I'd still have the problem with bolting it with the slider bolts in the way.

Decided it would just be a lot easier to get a new skid lol
