my truck started making a grinding noise on decel, in reverse or braking. sounds like what you would expect from dirt and pebbles in the rear drum. went out last weekend to the desert for a dirt bike trip and took the truck out for a cruise hit a few puddles nothing special and ove some bumps, also nothing major. heard the noise the next day, came home pulled the drums and nothing all normal im going to take the truck in tonight but i was hoping for some opinions. thanks all...

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
When you hear the noise are you turning or tracking straight?

I hit a large puddle at the beach a couple of weeks ago. Had the same noise! It freaked me out. It sounded like my MTs were rubbing on something then it gradually got lighter. Eventually it will go away.

im hoping your right but from how you discribed it it seems different it sounds awful its sounds like when you wear brake pads to the metal .... and then drive another 10000 miles like that:eek:

Mine sounded like an aluminum heat shield was vibrating against metal. I was sure that was it but it wasn't. It happened on a Sat and couldn't take it to the shop till monday. By Monday, it just got softer and went away.

+1 hopefully it is something very minor that just sounds horrific and they can fix it quickly.

also the reason I broke mine was due to spending the previous night doing burnouts and popping the clutch. Not to bright in my part I guess :D
