Sounds like something other than the oil itself.

Yeah that was my take also. Either the oil, the pump or a faulty light.
I am an amateur paleontologist so I am always out in the middle of the desert or mountains alone so I have always maintained my vehicles with the best products possible.
I just turned over 30 K in the Tacoma, so I am preparing to get the 30K service done.
I have used synthetics for the last 10 years in all of my vehicles.

Catastrophic failure like that is pretty certainly a mechanical failure.

I believe lubrication failure shows up in things like loss of oil pressure (oil lamp on at idle even w/full sump) from bearing wear and/or worn oil pump, early cam and follower wear with horrible clackity valves that can't be adjusted, and/or worn cam chains with wobbly timing. One or more of these, early in life... like under 100K or even earlier... in an engine not known for weak design.

I find the best engine lubricant is blood from a freshly slain unicorn. Unfortunatly due to a recent decline in the avaliability of unicorns I have had to switch to the tears of small innocent orphans and I am finding I actually get a small milage and performance increase and a increase in my overall satisfaction of 93 to the power of 8 times pi and you just cant beat that!!!

Mobil 1... Its what we use in our race engines.

After seeing the Oil temp get to 270 degrees fahrenheit and still running at 100%, I am a Mobil 1 believer.

Don't joke about unicorns, when Green Bay had to win 7 games straight last year, I prayed to the Unicorns and they took my team to a Super bowl WIN.

The fact that Green Bay Packers went and won is even more evidence why unicorns should be killed and have there blood used to lubricate my supercharged engine!!!

No, use it. We shouldnt be letting unicorns grant wishes like letting the GB packers go to and win the superbowl so as punishment we must drain them of there blood to use as a superlubricant in our engines.

The only problem with running unicorn blood is that sometimes it backfires glitter because as we all know unicorns fart glitter and pee rainbows!!!

Better kill them all because killing one only makes the others that much stronger.

I will admit the prayer ritual is a little painful, but it's getting easier and it works. You need one of these.

I use M1 and will prob keep it though the deals on the walmart eco oil seem unreal. The other day it was free after rebate for 6 quarts. Also I like oversized pureone filters.Mind you I don't have a tacoma just yet. soon;)

my last toyota I used regular pennzoil and hardly changed it. That motor ran 337,000 miles but the rest of the truck fell apart from rust. Don't waste your money on those expensive synthetics be more concerned what you feed your body!!! seriously what is the deal with expensive oils it is all a huge scam by the oil companies synthetic bullshit!!!!
