Hi Guys, just wondering if any of you guys have problems with the seat cloth, my truck has 12k and the driver seat in the center, looks like an old sweater. I'll post some pictures later, but since I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get the windows seals fix, the fan (again) and to check the horrible noise that the A/C motor makes when engages. I wanted to check if there are any problems with the seats.
    Thanks

Thanks Wolfpack, I have one of those, but I can't believe it, if at 12k I already have this, what's the life of these seats ? I know the armrests are not supost to last, I don't off road, the truck is a street truck and is already coming apart. Damn...I'm not really angry, I'm very disappointed..

I had the same problem after drivin my 2010 for a year. (less than 20 000 kms) It's really pathetic how they just don't hold up well enough. My dealer replaced the seat cover under warranty, then I went and bought WO's.

Mine looked good when I bought the truck (46k miles) but there was a hole worn in the side already from the lumbar knob. I found they stained really easy so I ditched 'em for leather. I was really disappointed in the easy staining of the stock seat fabric. That mesh stuff is hard to clean too. With the leather now any crumbs or dog hair that gets past my dog seat cover just brush off.

I never worried about a cover since I don't eat in the truck and I'm always clean, but I think I will try to get it replaced under warranty. I really like the seats and I wish I didn't have to cover them but I think I'm gonna have to get some covers. Damn covers are soo expensive..
    Thanks guys.

Have the dealer call John Huey and see if you can get a deal on some leather.

John is selling them at a really good price, and if the dealer is willing to play ball, have them discount on the install to cover the warranty seat replacement cost.

    Ideas :)

I don't know what kind of dealerships you guys have in Canada, here I already went thru 2, The first one said that they changed the seals and they were exactly the same, say that they replace the A/C fan, 2 days later, the noise came back and told me that he didn't replace it, that he cleaned it.
Second one, told me that he fixed the back window and did the rotation. Got the call, truck is done, got there, sign the papers, got on the truck, the window was untouched and the tires were the same. So I went back inside, and ask him: Did you guys did everything?
    SURE!!! was his answer
    well tires are no rotated,
    YES THEY ARE,
    no they are not,
YES!, I HAVE THE PAPERWORK AND WE DON'T LIE!
Took him to the truck and ask him why the front wheels were full of break dust and the back wheels were clean ??? I washed the truck myself 4 days ago..
Talked to the manager, he apologized, wanted to give me free oil changes, which already have a 2 year free service..
They are fricking idiots, they gave me sooooooo much shit to change the A/C fan...
Long story short, a least on TOYOTA OF PASADENA and LONGO TOYOTA, the customer service SUCKS .
Thank you for the idea, may be I just drive to Canada and have my service done there... Lol

Wow, I'm surprised about that service, I would report the dealership to Toyota corporate They get heavy penalties on dealerships that screw up and give a bad name to Toyota especially after the stuff that happened last year. Don't know how far you are from the San Fernando Valley but check out Keys Toyota on Van Nuys and Hammer Toyota on Sepulveda. Haven't had a service from them yet but they do have a good reputation as far as dealers go.

I have an 06 and I have a hole about the size of a dime in the side of mine that only continues to get larger... I believe its from my short ass climbing in and out of my truck and my wallet catches the side of the seat in the process. Either way the durability of the seats in our tacos is not up to par....

Mine's the same year and miles and the driver's seat is getting pretty worn where my left leg rubs the side of the seat getting in and out. (next to the tilt lever) Also on the left side of the seatback where the side bolster sticks out.

I am saving for seat covers before it gets worse.
