2002 Taco stalls when making a right turn

I have a strange problem with my 2002 Taco, 150K miles. When slowing down to making a right turn the truck stalls, the radio will shut off and the power doors and locks will lock and unlock. On one occasion (just this morning) the truck shut off. It acted like it didn't want to restart, but then it started right up. I had two different mechanics put in on a computer and neither couldn't find anything wrong with it. Do you have any ideal what could be the problem? I'm getting ready to ditch this thing. no check engine lights or anything? have you had the battery and alternator checked? maybe also have fuel pressure checked.

 

No, I haven't had the battery and alternator checked. No check engine light. Just right turn stalling and on occasion just shutting down on right turns.

 

Bad wiring connection somewhere maybe?

Dirty injectors, bad fuel filter, dying fuel pump,
bad wiring, a bad vacuum line on the manifold, bad air sensor...
possible stale gas or water in the tank?

The engine needs Fuel, air, and spark(ignition),
one of those things isn't working causing a stall.

 

Yep. What he said. I've had this happen to several vehicle over the years: dies when turning right/left, only when you brake hard, going over bumps... they all have equaled a wiring issue.

Make sure the battery terminals are clean, clamps tight. Check that the battery ground (black cable) is secure on the other end.

On a van, I had some wires that got mashed by some brush off road, wires that ran along the frame, it would only die when those wires shorted on the frame which was truning left in reverse...

You got a loose connection or exposed wiring somewhere.

 

Ok, dumb question. Why not on left turns? It has happen on 4 different occasions and only with right turns.

 

I'll check the battery terminals and let someone else check them, too. Just incase I miss something. (lol) I was thinking a ground problem. I'll keep you posted and if you can think of anything else please post.

This old southern girl doesn't mind getting dirty. I don't know much, but I will ask for help when I need it.

Well this is what I found: ground cable on the battery was broken and battery wasn't
snugged tightly (sliding from side to side) I corrected these things and will keep you guys posted. Thank for all of the possible solutions. I'm not saying that this corrected my problem, but we shall see. Again thanks!!

I'm willing to bet that this WAS the problem. As mentioned, a car stalling/dying going left/right/bumps is usually a loose connection somewhere. Some of the simplest things can cause the biggest headaches.

 

Yes, guys a loose battery connection seems to have been the problem. Thanks so much for all of your helping me troubleshoot my problem.
