Basically yes the new system would have 64 teams each conference has 4 divisions 4 divisions winners play each other to play for conference camp game.

But that is what I was saying, I know UGA already has its schedule done for the next 2 years. I guess they could redo 1 game though, as would all the teams would have to also. Wasn't sure it could be done that easily and quickly. But maybe that is what a lot of the talks are involving.

conference games are easy to move around. The non conference games are a little more difficult just might take more money to buy out of the game.

This is how I'd bet (if forced) this all shakes out. And, I agree 100% on the Clemson thing, they kinda seem to belong in the SEC. I think it was Louis Grizzard, (younger guys may not remember him) that said, "Clemson is kinda like Auburn, but with a lake".

According to my sources this is not as nearly done as everyone thinks it is. Turns out aggie asked the sec to let them in. The sec had no intention of expanding. both FSU and Clemson have officially denied contact with the SEC.
So is this going to turn out to be a case of aggie gets butt hurt over the longhorn network and causes a big stink to get some of the attention on them?
Typical little brother syndrome. Look at me....look at me.

Sorry dude, but your statement, "turns out aggie asked the sec to let them in.", is completely false. The SEC was interested in Texas, Texas A&M, and OSU last year when the conferences started to mix things up. The SEC wants to bring itself into the millions of Texas homes via television set. Lots of money involved. Read this article dated June 11th 2010:

    http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sp...rence-expansion-texas-am-considering-sec.html

And Hook 'em! I'm from Austin and will always be a Longhorn fan!;)

The NCAA would never allow this. You can't just cut half the teams out.

This realignment shit affects more then football. Other sports and academics (holy shit I know. You go to college for school first, football second). That is one main reason Boise State wasn't invited into the Pac12. Utah and Colorado offer great schools, football, medical and law schools. Boise state has shit academics.

Moot point, for now. SEC Presidents just "reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment," per SI.com

Seems that nobody wants Texas A&M.

NCAA is on thin ice with most major universities. With super conference realignment it opens itself to a new governing body. The NCAA has no actual legal authority it is an agreement between the schools to follow the rules set by the NCAA.
I also believe the current BCS contract ends in 2014. Thats when things get real exciting.

The article you linked to is from last summer when the SEC was exploring options in order not to be left behind. After things settled last year it was over for the time being.

The SEC has never extended a formal invite to a&m. (proven today)
aggie wants to get out of the shadow of the University of Texas. They know they will never be on equal footing as long as they are tied together. Now Im not just talking shit when I say this. It is a fact that Texas gets more money, recognition, and first choice in most cases when it comes to recruiting. texas a&m will never be equal in those areas. So they want to go somewhere that they are not in direct competition with Texas in these areas. Well we found out today they will have to keep looking.

I know this is not over. There is still a very good chance that a&m will eventually join the SEC when the super conference scenario comes about.
But until that happens we will rub this in aggies face every chance we get.

    HOOK 'EM!!!

This is funny. When I was in the navy, on my first ship, the USS Inchon MCS 12. I was an MM in the engineroom. We were resealing the part of the propeller shaft where it goes through the hull of the ship. Our division officer was down there for some reason doing something. He graduated from TAMU. He was trying to change out sockets on a ratchet and couldn't figure out how to get the socket off. He asked if I knew how to take it off. So I went over and immediately got it off and said "I sure do you friggin' aggie". Boy I tell ya what, he sure loved me. It's funny, ya had to be there.

This is partially why you see A&M working its move to the SEC. What the SEC said today was a CYA statement. That said, what your saying here is absolutely spot on. A&M to the SEC continues what Nebraska/Colorado/Utah did last year and when the music stops you might just see a "Premiership" (if you will) of College Football. The smaller conferences (WAC/MWC/MAC, etc) are going to be left the scraps.

This whole thing is going to be about money. BYU has their own network, Texas is in bed with ESPN and Notre Dame has NBC. The shifting is going to be seismic before it is said and done.

I'm glad we're sticking to 12 teams. Anything more is ridiculous. A&M would just be a whipping boy for the SEC...
