I notice a lot of people here prefering short beds?

how come this is? I prefer the DCLB for equal passenger and trunk room.

I hear SB and shorter wheel base is better for off road, why?

 

I saw a DCLB lifted today, Black on Black and it was one of the best trucks I've seen.

I haven't even got my access Cab yet, but I'm going to be looking to flip it and get into a Double cab soon.

 

reason i got a short bed was becuase i wanted the off road and to get the off road cant get a long bed deff wanted the locker shorter wheelbase anyway for off roading

 

shorter wheelbase gets better crawl angls and less chance of bottoming out

I didn't wan't a short bed because I thought I was going to put my motorcycle in the bed. When I decided there was no Way I was puting my bike up there I went and baught a Trailer. Now I wish I had gone 4 door short bed or FJ cruiser even. oh yeah and I wanted the off road package as well.

 

Wish my long bed was longer. I wouldn't be able to handle a shorter bed then I already have. I love having some room in back

 

Short beds are as ugly as hell. Long beds rule. It even says in the bible that really bad people drive short beds and will burn it hell. I haul more crap than offroad so I need the long bed over short. A double cab long bed lifted is the sexiest thing ever.

Thats why Access Cabs are better...

 

I have my buddy's 16ft trailer in my driveway I use but sometimes I'm a little lazy to hook up and lug around. I get your point

 

When I was shopping it seemed the long beds were hard to find.

 

I would have liked a long bed also, but you can't get one with a manual trans which is a deal breaker for me. I prefer manuals and will never own another auto unless my health requires me too.

i wanted the 6spd but didn't want to give up the long bed. Wish Toyota and other companies stop with the limited options that make no sense. Dc lb 6spd would be awesome

This .... though I did end up buying a DCSB sport. It's all the dealer had in stock (or 3 others in the area). Since I don't off-road much, I figured, screw it. My only mandatory requirement was 4x4.

 

Fits in my garage.

 

SB is easy around town and makes parking easy to find, Also looks better IMO... Jim

 

SB's are ugly.

 

Shortbed has a better break ovet angle due to shorter wheel base so it has improved clearance over the long bed. I wanted the offroad double cab 4x4. There are some days I wish I had the longer bed, but those days are rare. I needed the double cab for baby seat and growing family. So far so good.
