AC Condensate drain ?

Haven't seen any condensate dripping after running the AC - any idea where the "drain tube" is located ?

The truck was undercoated, may have been plugged -

It extends a few inches out of the firewall on the passenger side and drips on the frame rail.

 

I noticed that too. Is there any way or mod to let it drain away from the frame? I really think it could contribute to rusting.

Op if you cant see any drain coming out from said location the undercoating might have plugged it. I will check it if I were you.

 

And be aware that some found the tube inside (up high on the inside area of the passenger floor) sometimes ran up and over a bracket causing it to either get pinched or travel uphill before going outside to drain. Might want to check that out if it's not plugged outside.

 

OK, tube was easy to see and it was draining right on top of a frame rail that had a bundle of wires running down the top of it - the OD of the drain tube was 5/8 inch, went to hdwr. store and picked up 2 ft. of 5/8 inch ID tubing - slipped new tubing over the existing tube and ran down to below frame - exhaust header is right there, tried to keep new tubing as far away as possible - tie-rapped in place - ALSO - got my Bilstein 5100's for the front today from DSMS - will be getting them installed within the next few weeks ))

 

I have drippage from the AC condensate now on the driveway - NOT on the frame rail

 

This was one of my first mods.

Screwdriver is on the drain extension.

Boy....I sure do like how they designed the drain over the frame.

Do you think this mod extension would void the warranty?

The warranty on what?

 

The warranty on the ac system if anything ever goes wrong it could be a good "blame the owner for extending the hose,not covered" by the dealer.

 

Anyways would the rust be that significant over the years of the ac draining onto the frame?

Is 5/8" the ID or the OD

 

Post says OD of the original tubing.

 

I saw that but what would the ID of the tubing be then? Most part store around here use the ID for size reference.

 

Well, he stated the OD is 5/8" so that would be the ID of the tube you're buying, seeing as how you'd be putting your new tube over the drain tube on the truck. Right?
