I usually let it go to voicemail and filter them there. This time they kept calling and calling. The lab at the hospital was down; so it was kinda important I guess.

Tired coming back from your cruise... I'm trying to work up some sympathy. You missed an awsome trip to Bridgeport, fyi.

What were they bugging you about? Don't they know how to make the friggin coffee?

No damage and the tires worked great. I'm looking at a short body lift to give the tires/body a little extra clearance though. When the 4Runner is loaded down with 4 people, ice chest, and all the trail gear they get within a hair or two close to touching. Looking at upgrades too.

teh gay huh? Not trying to knock the 2WD guys, but it was pretty sweet not having to stop all the time. :D We did some 3s and 4s before we left. It was cool hitting trails that gave me a challange last time; this time they were pretty easy.

If you are going to upgrade anyway why not just do a small suspension lift instead of the body lift. The suspension lift will be easier to put on, and I'm not a big fan of BLs. Last year we were in my buddy's rig when one of the body mount bolts sheared off and it shot the BL spacer out and dropped the cab on the frame....

The problem with a small suspension lift is it is not money I can recoupe when I go SAS with it. Unlike Tacomas, there isn't a line of kids wanting to buy my used/old parts for near premium prices. Plus I hate doing work twice. A simple 1 or 2" BL now will get me 1) extra clearance between tires/body for when/if I go bigger, 2) allow me to start working on a flat belly so parts are not hanging under the frame, 3) still be usable when I go to solid axles, and 4) when your putting a rig through the paces and thrashing it off road - shit breaks. To say BLs are crap because your buddy had one break is like saying Tacomas are crap because they break. Shit breaks... it just means it needs to be upgraded or was old.

I didn't say they were crap. I was simply recounting a terrifying first hand story related to a body lift. was not very fun, we were driving around a corner at about 45 mph in town when it happened.

Luckily we were right next to a fastenal when it happened so we got out, picked the spacer up off the intersection, bought a new bolt and fixed it in the parking lot. This was all while on lunch break
