Well, is it a 4x4? 2 or 4 doors? Stock?
People don't realize that reporting mpg without more details about your truck is not helpful!

    31-35 mpg summer.

    26-30 mpg winter.

Used to get better before Michelin Hydroedge, and 10% ethanol.

V6 4.0 liter I get right under 16 in the city, before mods I was getting around 17.5 in the city. The things that killed my mileage:

changed to BFG AT tires I dropped about 1.5 mpg due to additional tire weight.

Then I lifted my truck 3 in and maybe lost .5 mpg but the TACO is awesome in the sand, and mud. :)

I always have found it incredible how much better gas mileage is in summer vs. winter. This is probably a more important distinction than city/highway

my 08 reg.cab 4cyl 5spd is getting 25-26 mpg. this is all local miles.
with the 4.10 gears i would say at highway speed it would get the same or a little less because of the higher rpms.

    20" tires??? Stock???

(my '10 and my '05 both gave me the same mileage, both 4.0 V-6, Off Road 4WDs, with stock 16" tires... 16-17 MPG typical)

I wish we got gasoline that was as pure as yours must be! The best mileage I have gotten was 19 when in Mexico, and that was fully loaded for camping. California gas sucks for mileage.

I didn't keep track when I had the stock Duncrap tires. I probably should have - oh well. I now get between 17.3 and 19.2 mpg with my Duratracs including a bunch of in town driving. Seems pretty good to me!

    of course
My taco is a daily driver, ~28 miles round trip to work with approximately half of that highway. I have a baby Taco, 2WD 2.7l access cab auto trans and average 22.5 mpg's per tank. When I take a long highway trip I get 26 to 27 mpg's. Note that the only drivetrain mod is an afe pro dry drop in air filter. I noticed I went from an average of 21 to 22.5. Of course I put it in at 10K miles so some of the gain could be attributed to the engine break in.

My 20's came from my 05 Tacoma. Toyota SE distribution installed them. My 2011 is identical to my 2005, v6, auto, 4door, 2wheel drive. Except the 2011 is a trd sport & the 05 was an SR5. My 05 had better mileage & I think a stronger engine, even with 173,000 miles it seemed to have more power than my 2011 does.

I get between 19-20 daily driving (not much highway) my 4cyl manual 4x4 single cab with mud tires.

Not sure what kind of mileage to expect off-road.

I posted earlier that I got 22 MPG on the highway. Now that I've put more miles on under different conditions I have a better comparison:

    Mixed city/highway (10-20 mile trip) - 17 MPG

Towing 1500 pound boat/trailer 50/50 mix of 70 MPH interstate/60 MPH secondary roads, level terrain - 16 MPG

    Towing 1500 pound boat/trailer constant 60 MPH, level terrain - 19 MPG

    When I ran the OEM 245 tire, I got 21 MPG's mixed.
    When I went to a 265 tire, I'm getting 16 MPG's mixed.

The best I ever got was 26 MPG's pure highway on that 245 tire. It was a tank after I towed my uncle's boat to Oregon. I literally unhitched the boat in Portland, OR filled up my gas tank, and headed home to SoCal. When my tank ran empty 6 hours later, I calculated 26 MPG's.
