The compressor is not connected to the thermostat for one thing, except to receive the turn on and off signal. it has its own seperate power supply, first thing is get a meter and see if the compressors even getting power when its supposed to be

 

Hmmm, he seems like the kung fu panda type more then the Crane or Mantis type lol

 

Also as for just telling you this now, might I remind you my job covers damn near everything, from basic plumbing to diesel engines to engineering to all things pressure and temperature, HVAC systems included

So the compressor doesn't power the thermostat? It's a digital one and it's not getting power anymore for some reason. One of our county workers for maintenance does a/c and I'm hoping he can come look at it tomorrow. What else would cause it to not get power anymore?

many things, could be a broken fuse for one. and no, the digital thermometre still turns on right? also, I believe the thermometre runs on 10v, like the door bell. If your compressors professionally installed, it might even run on 220V, same as your stove, as i know most up here do, but i've seen 110V systems, so don't go playing with the power cables. using a metre is the safe way to check. all your thermometre does is track the current temp, and when it gets above a set point, say 90*F, it tells your compressor to turn on, then once it cools to low set point, say 75*F then it tells the compressor to turn off. Your compressor is on - off only. not modulating based on control

Are you at home yet?? having a battery in your digital thermostat (there, like that word better Kodiak??) can mean two things, 1) its a small back up for the thermostat, Which is rare, like, very rare, or most likely 2) Your digital stat is wireless, which means i might have solved your issue, can you take it off the wall mount and walk around with it on?? aka meaning theres no wires keeping it attached to the wall? I have a hunch
