And what is this shifting issue? I've never experienced any odd shifts in my 08.

Shifting issues & TSB are for automatics. I never let them cut the 05 but the 08 was already cut when I got it a coupla months ago so I just screwed the OBX cover to the nub, lol..............

I had original oem all weathers in the 05 with an uncut pedal with the OBX cover on it. Gas pedal was never anywhere near getting caught. Same when weathertechs went in, nowhere close. Same in the 08, OBX cover with WTs and pedal is nowehre near. Buncha hooplah and nonsense over driver initiated fails. Clutch pedal is great override, no flashy nada on my 5 speed.......

I let them do mine just so when I sell it I can tell the buyer that it's been done. The average shmo that's probably gonna buy it from me will want to know it's been done.

I can't tell the difference unless I deliberately try to apply gas and brake at the same time, then the throttle-brake override kicks in. It's totally not a problem.

That being said, I have seen the dealer service advisors having people sign waivers. If you don't want it done, tell the dealer upfront next time you go in, sign the waiver and don't have to worry about it getting done without your approval in the future.

just got the letter about shaving the pedal last week. wasn't going to get it done. I dont see an issue with it,but toyotas doing this to cover their butt,so I may just get it done to cover my butt.

I just got this done Saturday on my 05 v6 6 speed. The reflash seemed to change my vvt. It smoothed it out and made the truck pull linearly through the rpms and my lower rpm torque felt better as well. My friend noticed it to riding with me. I also notice a mpg change, it could have been a fluke but I got 20mpg going home compared to 18mpg going to the dealer. So from my experience I would say its worth it.

All this just proves that 07's are the best built year. No fucked up engine mounts, no VSC, no shitty LED lights, no retarded stereo, volume, driving, fiddling, automatic shit.

Yup...I'm living the good life. And before anyone says (ATRAC FLOL!) I say fuck you. Locker.

Hey Serge, so what's wrong with the LED lights, you just don't like them or do you know of actual problems?

2gen section should be split 05-08 and 09+ cause 09+ are turning Toyota forum into the Ford/GM forum :p

They don't melt ice build up when driving in winter like standard bulbs do; thus reducing visibility.

    And they look poopy imo.

Considering I live in a desert/Mediterranean climate I would have never guessed that. I like the LED tails, I think they look sharp. I just want to make sure they are durable. I've seen some Cadaliac junk on the road with non functioning individual LED's and those looked pretty bad.

And probably its the same thing as with the guys who modded lights to use LED. At some point somebody said that going LED is goign to help with power usage on the trail so bunch of people bought LED configs then went on the trail and find out LED needs circuit which is not 100% waterproof (unless you have special offroad LED light) so when you submerge it just like you would old fashion bulb its going to short out and bring the fuse down.
To somebody standing outside it looks like lights on the Titanic. You see them going into the water, then they flicker then lights are gone
