I wouldn't actually want that Judge at all. Recoil is a sumbitch and it's heavy in general. I'd be curious what the spring rate is on the trigger.

If your wife or girlfriend had to use your home defense weapon, I think they would have a better time with a shotgun. My mom spazzes out when she shoots a 40 cal (she clenches up, yelps, and comes close to dropping it), but does fine with a shotgun doing shots from the hip, even though she doesn't like it.

That's a good point, but for myself I think the judge is badass and a great defense gun. But you're right, not an easy gun for a wife or girlfriend to handle.

Remington 870, any criminal will run the other way, when you chamber a round. Check the state laws on barrel length, you also can take the plug out, to hold two more rounds, check the state laws on that also. Also a large dog is good home protection.

Look for a used Benelli M1 super 90. Awesome gun. Bought mine (new)as a tactical with pistol grip and ghost ring sights. Has never had a hiccup or let me down. You can find them used for around $600. I have changed mine over to hunt ducks with and performs flawlessly. I also have a remington 887 but I haven't shot it yet so I can't speak about it yet.

better? im not sure what you mean. i already have a shotgun for skeet and i just bought this one since i got a deal and for a home defense type. and i heard you cant shoot slugs through certain chokes? and i know nothing about chokes. ive only put maybe 10 rounds through it and i expected it to have terrible range but it looked ok out at like maybe 30 yards

You must live in a safe area: bad guys knock before entering, and they come only after 9. :p

I've had an attempted break-in at 2 pm on a Sunday. The suspects completely ignored the Taco in the driveway and went for the bugscreen in an open window. Fortunately a confrontation was not need.
