Because it is. The misalignment spacers allow the coilover to rotate both directions. When rotated all the way forward it rubs the shit out of the top of the shock. And under compression...boom. The resi fitting hit the TC top plate AND the top plate bolt and sheared it right off. Fucked up my weekend for sure.

Well if it makes you happy, here's a picture of it not rotated either direction.

    IMG_3511_89e32f55810a2a7b1b109bbc2531a03f9b19fd02.jpg

    EDIT:

Passenger side rotated forward and backward. Almost zero clearance between the fitting and the bolt/bracket.

You can make a new top mount with longer tabs and wider apart. They should also curve out from center to add strength and clearance!

I'm not doing a fucking thing except remove the coilovers. I spent this much money on the parts, someone else is going to fix it. I spoke to both DSM and TC. King is owning up to it. As soon as I get the coilovers off, they are going back to King with the top plates and bolts.

I totally agree with that:cool:, at least they're owning up to it, mustn't be the first time.

Somehow I thought opening this box would be more climactic. Unfortunatly I ended up being further perturbed. :frusty:

At least now I have a box to pack up my coilovers in.

I have king double bypasses in the rear. The triples pictured are for secondaries up front were ordered the same time as the coilovers but King was behind on parts.

Oh no problem at all and I certainly do appreciate the help. I completely agree with your analysis as well. Sorry if I came off as an asshole but yeah I am a bit annoyed with the situation.

I asked tons of questions and was a LT thread whore for months figuring out how to make a well built LT truck. And before I even get to drive it like it should be, a pathetic fitting breaks in half and sprays 200 psi worth of nitrogen pressurized shock oil over my freshly painted frame and wheel well. And does anyone know what happends to oil when sand hits it?

Not to mention the whole motor hydro lock the last time I went to Pismo. I just can't catch a break out there.

Coilovers are out and packed up in the box that the bypasses came in. Shipping the bastards out tomorrow to King with the TC topplates so there are no mistakes this time.

I also lost a CV clamp off the inner CV boot on the passenger side out at Pismo. Naturally the boot came loose and CV grease is...well...everywhere. Pulled the axle and took it to vatozone for a free lifetime warrenty no questions asked replacement for my "Tundra" axle. :D

I'll be replacing the both the inner clamps with some beefier ring worm hose clamps so this doesn't happen again.

Also installed a carrier bearing drop bracket complements of Beefed Taco. Rear axle is strait as a dime now. I haven't driven it yet (no front coils), but I'm hoping it will eliminate the rear driveline shutters I was having.

nice. seems like King is taking care of you... which is not a surprise.

shitty situation, but in the world of LT... things could have been alot worse haha

the CB bracket helps a ton, you'll be happy. mine worked wonders for my truck

I have basically zero pictures of my truck in Pismo. Between the shock resi breaking the first day and my wife had the camera and all the pictures are of the kids.

Only picture I have is of my bro lean before the truck was even unpacked
