Alright, so recently I bought a sweet 1992 toyota tercel, aka Turkey, to be my daily driver (co-best damn purchase ive ever made). Since then everyone has been calling me to borrow my truck for everything like moving furniture or just getting around. I get hesitant to loan it out, especially now since ive made a few mods, but I dont wanna be a dick so I let them.

What do you guys do when ppl ask? Is there such thing as proper truck borrowing etiquette? You know gas use or when am I getting it back. Haha, let me know.

True, the person has alot to do with it. If I have a good first experience Im usually inclined to say yes again but Ill tell you what they sure take advantage then, no bueno!

I should post a sticker somewhere in there saying "This truck uses Shell or Chevron gasoline, only." Haha, and maybe post the usually mpg's so they get the hint. Haha, too much?

No, if anything happens you would be kicken yourself in the ass after. No one cares for somebody elses stuff like the owner.

Dude put a spare tire rack in the bed of the Tacoma. So it looks like it can not carry much. So they will not ask.

Depends on what they want it for.
If they are a good friend you trust and really need it for a once or twice special thing, like bringing home a piece of new furniture, then sure.
But if they are just too lazy to get their own ride and are moochin, then no way. Sooner or later you'd have to cut them off, and somehow you'd be the asshole for it, even though you've been doing them a favor the whole time.

    no.
it's extremely rare that someone else drives my truck, even when I'm there.

I don't feel you're being a dick by protecting your property.
I'd feel like a douche asking someone if I could use their truck to move my stuff.
you make the payments, and pay the insurance...

If people want my truck, they get me too. I'm always up to help a friend out, but I drive.

depends on what they need it for, how long, and who it is. bare minimum they pay for the gas they used and depending on who it is I may make them buy me supper. I haven't let anyone drive my new truck, but since most my friends also have trucks it's kind of a none issue.

The ONLY times ANYONE has EVER driven my vehichles, Ive been within eyesight of them. If you truly value your possesions, dont loan them out. Simply go with them if you'd like to help...But everyones different

    I tell them I don't have a truck.

Then they look at me funny.

Then I give them "the LOOK"....
