I'm trying to buy a Tacoma, however non of the dealers in the area have what I'm looking for. I'm trying to get a black 6speed manual 4x4 double cab with the TRD off road and JBL package. But no one in about 300 miles seem to have it.

A few of them offered to have it custom built but they can't give me an exact price or delivery date. The delivery date ranges from 1 week to 5 months. Also a few of them stated that if it was custom ordered it will be the 2012, however they can't give me any info on the 2012. I looked at the 2012 changes thread on here and wasn't keen on the one in the video (which I personally think is fake).

Also there is one available with all of the items i listed except the JBL audio.

So i'm trying to figure out the best option for me at this point...
    1. Order a 2012 and hope it looks like the 2011 (and wait for 2 months to collect)
    2. buy the available one without the JBL audio
    3. buy one almost 2000 miles away that is not black
    4. wait until the 2012s are widely available then try to get an 2011 if i dont like it?

    What would you do?

    Thanks

I would get the one you wanted just without the JBL radio in it. I have a 2006 TRD Sport with the JBL system in it and its not that much better then the stock system to be honest. If you want a really good sounding system, your gonna have to go aftermarket, yes I know JBL is aftermarket but the one that comes with the Tacomas arent that great.

I would do this, and put your own system in it.

Agreed! It's a lot cheaper and easier to add a sound system that will sound 10x better. I also wanted black except sport edition, but no one had one in a 6 speed manual, so I went and looked at a dealership that had 3 sports with a manual transmission. I looked at the Timberland Mica and didn't look any further.

I think the best thing would be for you to go to a dealership with an understanding that they might not have the exact truck you are looking for. You might just surprise yourself at what you are willing to compromise on and which truck you end up with.

There really isn't much to know about the 2012s. So who knows, they might not have a 6spd option for the Off Road. To be honest, I wouldnt get hung up on a purchase because of the JBL Stereo, it sounds okay, but I personally wouldn't make a purchase solely on that.Plus you can always upgrade your OEM stereo.

I had the same issue. I wanted the Off road package w/ jbl in black. Nobody had one. I went without the JBL radio. The radio you can always change later. Harder to change the color. I went with color and the O/R over stereo. Basically what he^^^said.

If you can "sacrifice", then so be it... but if what you want is that important, hold out or order... it'll likely be a 2012, as I've been looking nationwide for a taco I want, and its nearly impossible... people don't sell these things once they get them and the end of the year/model refresh means 2011 style tacos are a rare breed as well.

Personally, if I know what I want and I can't find it, I'll wait. Smaller things such as tools, household items, etc., I'll compromise.

buy the 2011 and put a system in it. The stock JBL isn't much better!

are you actually going to use the bluetooth? personally, i wouldn't get it. it's not difficult to answer your phone and then put it on speaker phone.
