I really dont wanna be that guy, but I was going to mention something about tube uprights on the bumper being the weak link, Id say rebuild it with fabricated frame horns instead of tube uprights.

this is the one infamous built for me, not my truck but shows the mount better.

I still can't believe we were able to bend the bumper back with nothing more than a strap and a big fucking truck. :D

So is the bumper not tied into the rollcage?!

And the bumper should probably be replace because bending it like that can cause a pivot like point which the bumper will continue to bend again and again until it breaks!

You guys are all missing the point. It didn't bend cause it was a shitty design. Its not like he ran into a puppy or something. It bent cause he basically hit a fucking wall. Sure there are other ways to build a better bumper but the bumper did the job it was supposed to do.

It's all good. Actually, I was the first one to point this out on my own truck. My other taco had a Baja Bumper which has 6 mounting points. This one has 4 and they're all near the bottom of the bumper. I already pictured in my mind what would happen if I got in a collision, so I wasn't surprised by the outcome.

What the bumper really needs is a horizontal support on each side mounted to the upper part of the frame.
I'm thinking the easiest and cheapest way to resolve this would be to add the supports to the bumper:

I would take you up on that, but my truck is probably not the best template. The custom sub-frame ties into the bumper so it's not exactly a stock configuration.

If you want to fuck around and beef up my current bumper, I'm all for that :D

Assuming you are talking about the SDHQ bumper...don't think that's happening. OP's current bumper is tied into a completly custom subframe.

I know the build dude, followed along as the entire truck was built on TTORA, even seen it a few times. I dont know what the subframe has to do with not letting SDHQ build him a bumper.

Youre aware that everything they make is one-off, built on the truck and welded to the frame itself, they dont fuck around with bolt on stuff. Simply saying that a super well built 4130 TIG welded bumper wouldn't implode like it did. Even better if its tied into the engine cage.

Time out. Thanks for the suggestion of SDHQ, I know they put out some sick builds, but the logistics of SDHQ alone would keep me from going to them.
The bumper is tied into the subrame, but the subframe is not tied into the bumper, so yes, I could get a completely different bumper if I wanted to. But mostly for monetary reasons, I'm just going to reinforce the current bumper, and now that you mention it, also weld it onto the frame so won't have to deal with broken bolts anymore.
