I agree with you on that, but the truck in the video has both types of antenna mounts. I posted photos several replies up.

EDIT: I think I misunderstood what you meant. GPS = Telematics. The only trucks supposed to get Entune (which includes the GPS/telematics) are the Double Cabs. Could be that all trucks getting XM or Entune get the same antenna regardless.

That would put it into the same class as the Ford Raptor, and into a similar price range as well... $50-65000; a little too pricey for a mid-size Tacoma. Toyota has positioned the Tacoma in the perfect spot... mid-size with no real competition. The Ford Ranger, last of the compacts.. gone. The Dakota and it's Mitsubishi clone, not a great market share, nor the Frontier and it's Suzuki clone. In it's current form the Tacoma out preforms all of it's competition... no need to muddy the waters with over priced limited market trucks.

One reason we see two antennas mounted may be that the trucks in the video are pre-production models. Maybe the just don’t have a clean front right fender yet? My wife and my boss both have vehicles with gps and sat radio. They only have one antenna, and they look like the one on the roof.

I saw it with body armor camo again on the highway. Ive seen it and a even more radical one for 2 years now testing. Of course the "snapper" never believes anyone and Im sure has a alarm set for anytime someone mentions a redesign.

Those guys are on the look-out for people with camera's when their rolling down the highway. They speed up or slam the brakes if they think someone is even looking longer than 10 seconds.

Plus its not like its all the time. I've seen it about 5 times over 2 years and its usually blowing by me and I got pics of it once but it was so blurry , no one would want to even look at them.

Usually they are out at sunrise or sunset too, that makes it even harder to get a good pic.

Not bad if that's the change but not enough to make me walk away from a good deal on a 2011. Key question will be MSRP given the reorganization of some options in Canada. That antenna really should have gone - Toyota recognizes its not a great feature by removing it for the video.

Well, I think I will be purchasing the 2012 when it comes out. Cant wait to see the Dbl Cab Long Bed with the Sport package. I hope they dont get to crazy on the interior. I actually like it as is. I am not a fan of the interior of the new 4runners. I was never comfortable in it and actually felt stiff inside. I felt cramped actually. Dont know how to explain it other than that.

why do people get hung up on this? the cost of design and development of a grill are what we accountants like to call IMMATERIAL.

woah they put a lot of effort into it
    /sarcasm

i do like it from certain angles, a lot better than fugly 4runner, and thank goodness they got the hint of sticking out like antlers reflectors as part of headlights, just go smooooooth....

looks more aggressive, flows good, but that's w/out taking into account what they actually changed; if you take that into account then perspective changes, and you see the facelift is very minor, they didn't even touch the fenders ;p hood, bumper, grillle, headlights/fogs whoopy doo

for someone getting a new one and not having current model, heck yes great looking one, but for 2nd gen owners thinking to trade? hmmm no, wait for the real 3rd gen, not this 2.25 ;p
but yes for someone totally new into them, looks great imo and refreshing but with a hint of highlander in it hah (sorry had to throw that there).

now show me the interior where they placed the homelink, that's what i want haha oem homelink switch, not part of the mirror, hopefully in place of the sunglass holder?
    and heated mirrors..............:D

Parking in narrow spots, off roading in narrow spots....you realize people on this forum run into those situations from time to time right?

So my current plans are to get the toytec ultimate kit with the Dakkar leaf spring pack. there shouldnt be any change to the suspension at all for this next model so I should be able to order a suspension that works for the 2005-11 models right? Same with a soft tonneau cover?
