went a little paint crazy...what do you think?

i used an all-purpose plastic and metal spray paint from duplicolor...a couple coats later, and it matches the speedway blue almost perfectly.

Looks really good man. Did you take off the stereos faceplate to paint it? Or did you just tape off the buttons

Thats a great idea. That is why I had liked what the FJs did, something similar. Not 4sure if it would look good on mine since its white. The blue is awesome though.:D

i took everything appart...i took out all of the buttons and taped off the holes so the paint wouldn't make the fit too tight when i put them back in. the hardest part to take off was the piece that holds the air vents and the 4x4 switch. you havce to take out the two screws right above the spedometer becasue it actually hooks behind that part.

Looks awesome. You should paint the A/C dials, too, if you can tape-off just the triangle where light comes through. I think it'd be badass to have SWB dials instead of black.

I may have to do this now. I say this should go under cheap/free mods.

i thought about doing that, but for the same reasons i didn't paint the buttons (asside from silver accents looking good) is becasue i was afraid with all of the touching they get, that the paint would rub off.i'm still considdering it though. i'll see how well the rest of it holds up and go from there.

thanks for all of the feedback guys. i was nervous about how it would turn out and what people would think about it, but now i'm glad i took the risk

that's actually what gave me the idea. i test drove an FJ, and really like the color matched faceplate.
