Mike you moved your solenoid to the engine bay right? Any suggestions where to go get pre-cut cables...havent really looked here? Want to get mine under the hood. I just put it behind the grill cause all I had was the short cables. Now that we are all settled ready to start working on the truck again.

I bought Powerslot rotors one time. They warped pretty quickly (<25K) so never tried them again. Not sure if I was unique. Went back to OEM rotors and pads with the edition of braided steel brake lines. Very happy with braking power and longevity so far. Now at 30K again on this set.

I got mine at Napa. They sell both red and black cable in 4 gauge by the foot. Just kinda measure out where you are gonna put the solenoid so you have a good idea how much you'll need. They also sell copper fittings.

    and here's the link

No real suggestions. I used left over 4ga wire I had bought to wire car audio gear. I would imagine this wire costs a premium since it is fancy shmancy BS, and regular black insulated stuff is going to be just as good.

Platt seems to be the easiest place from my brief search. Here it is cut to length

Keep in mind the ring terminals are going to be difficult to crimp unless you have a tool for it. My dad's an electrician so I was fortunate, but you might need to ask around. Car stereo places will be easiest, but spendy. Ask Platt while you are there.

I'd imagine there's got to be a good set since slotted stuff goes on race cars and all that jazz, I just haven't gone out to look.

Good point on the braided lines. It sounds like hocus pocus, but there's so many people saying they get better stopping power out of it... and it's fairly cheap

A buddy of mine works for Baxter Auto Parts up in Portland. He's tried out just about every rotor and pad combination for his 03 Civic Si (when they were a hatch for a while). He will tell you that slotted, drilled, bedazzled, anything besides a standard high quality vented rotor is a waste of money and a lot of potential headaches for you. Just because slotted or drilled rotors look cool, does not mean they work better.

The key is - when your pads are worn down just plan on buying a NEW set of rotors and some high quality partial ceramic pads (he recommends hawk).

If you get your rotors "turned," not only are they more likely to warp (or still be warped if they were before) but they are also less efficient at dissipating heat because you removed some mass from the rotor.

So, in closing - need a brake job? Get high quality vented rotors with no slots or holes and spend the extra few bucks for a good pad. Also, add some braided stainless lines. Little stuff like that will make your system far more reliable and consistent.

That's true. But those rotors are not going to last you very long. They're designed for peak stopping power, not road life.

    Sounds like it.

Moving to Hillsboro so I won't see dirt until September. I even put the stock tires on again.

Pretty sure any prius that even sees a glimpse of it would soil itself.

    Cameron does some insane work.

On a sidenote. I ditched my doors today.

Did anyone see this on the New Member section? He allegedly bought it from Portland and had it shipped to TX. Surprise none of us caught it online. Sucks it's 2wd and has RCD lift but I think it looks sweet and I would much rather have a RCD than a Pro Comp or Fabtech 6". Makes me want to steer away from the pre-runner look as well and go back to the crawler look

EDIT i guess it is a 4wd..I dont see any cv boots and from my lack of knowledge on front air lockers, I guess you need 4wd for it?
