    It will be interesting to see what happens. The rounded hood scoop doesn't flow well with the new angular front grille and bumper. But Toyota is probably too cheap to change the hood stamping...

    I keep thinking what happened with the 4runner.

    In 2008 they did a nip/tuck. Changed some stuff and then in 3 short years the did a complete redesign. I think that's what might happen here with the tacoma.

    Nip/tuck now and then in 2 or 3 years they'll completely redesign it. Its all a marketing strategy to sell more trucks.

    In 2001 the Tacoma was refreshed on the front end, tail light lenses, fender flares and interior. That was the last change beside very minor details until the second generation came out in 2005. With this 2012 refresh it could happen again by not seeing a complete redesign with new power trains for the 2016 fuel economy standards.

    The front end does seem busy compared to the 2011 and prior models. It somewhat reminds me of the quasi Xwing fighter style that Nissan did with the 2009 Xterra’s front end.
