The 10.5" travel claim requires modification of the bumpstop. Camburg's 1.25" UCAs allow more compression before binding than what's possible with the stock bump. Mind you, that's just on a 2wd. The 4x4 CVs become a limiting factor.

I agree with you on the durability of the stock parts.

Thats why I like to spend a little extra coin and buy most stuff brand new. A lot of used stuff is a great buy and you will save a lot of money, but there are small percent of deals like this where you get screwed

if you can cough up the dough for the fabbed ones i say go for it, but i havent seen any physical parts yet for replacement 4x4 spindles.ive sketched a design up but its cheaper to offer a complete lt kit with a fabbed up 4x spindle than a "simple" bolt in 4x spindle.

go with stock ungusseted spindles and just carry spares. they arent that big or expensive to keep strapped or bolted on the truck somewhere. id rather deal with a bent spindle than a cracked spindle from welding on a gusset anyday! ive seen bent spindles but i havent seen a bent spindle with a welded on gusset. 95% of the gusseted spindles break , not bend.

you can get more travel with stock length suspension by changing the orientation of the pivot joints and moving the upper shock mount inboard a little bit. dont necessarily have to go wider to get more vertical wheel travel. shock ratios almost always change with increase in track width and travel IS NOT proportional to track width.

but 11" of travel with 2.5" shocks on the 2nd gen is super difficult to get , but not impossible!

i trust the stock ball joint configuration for hard running in the desert way more than trusting all the weight of the truck getting put on the bolt in tension, like the typical lt kits are designed. the lcas are tough and balljoints last for 40-50k miles with probably 4-5k of offroad abuse. ive only replaced arms due to the bushings getting destroyed and ill have a nice fix for that soon.

Hmmm thats very true. I have been worried about mine since the lowers are still the stock ball joint on a 1st gen LT
