Rear Bumper Replacement Question

I dented my rear bumper pretty bad recently. I think it possibly could be filled and repainted, but I found one on craigslist for cheaper than I could get my dented bumper fixed. I found one for $60. The guy got a different one at 11 miles right after he bought it new. I just want to make sure the bumper is compatible for my truck. All that I know about his truck is that it's a 2011 TRD Sport with a towing package. And mine is a 2006 Off Road with a towing package. I figure that it will fit, but I want to be 100% sure because it's a fairly long drive to get this bumper.

What makes me wonder is because I saw a thread where somebody on here got one and the brackets and mounting holes were different. I don't know if that's because one bumper was for with towing package and one wasn't, or the difference in year model. So I don't want to waste my time and money on the wrong thing. Somebody that has switched bumpers, please let me know.

 

Also, this bumper is a silver one off a sport. I plan on painting it black with bedliner, probably just the rustoleum or herculiner stuff in a can. Would just roughing it up and then spraying it on be fine? Or do I need a primer and adhesion promoter or anything like that?

 

Does anybody know?

So how about bedlining it? Just slap it on or prep it by sanding, priming, etc?

 

light scuffing, shouldn't need to prime it if you are putting bedliner in a can on it. Don't overdo it, bc i'm sure it will chip sooner or later and it will be easy to touch up with a rattle can.
