From personal experience (four wheeler through the window), it costs about $250 to replace. They have to put a whole new window in, they cant just replace the panes.

I actually wanted to go that route too, but after shopping around for some reason a 3-piece was cheaper? I don't know why but it was

Thats what i was hoping to when i busted mine. But i had to replace the whole thing, i didnt know if it would be the same for the 2nd gens or not. I went to a junkyard and picked one up for pretty cheap, I cant remember the exact price. Then had this "on the go" type glass repair put it in for cheap. Took 10 minutes max. I believe I got out of it for under 100.

Not sure if the junkyard would have very many 2nd gens though?

Thats true. If you cant find one in time, I double layered some duct tape and made a window. It worked fine, just looks ugly.

When I bought my truck it came with a fiberglass bedcover so me and a buddy didn't know what we were doing and ended up pushing it through my back window. I got rid of my slider and went with one solid one. Cost 100 dollars. I think insurance might have helped some

yes, but I more than likely won't wheel. If I do, it will be very mild. That Jeep is so badass..haha get that white Ford Escape out there...lol he did some work last time.

    Alabama guys,

Just wanted to chime in and say hello. I currently have a 4Runner but have been driving my wife nuts about getting a Tacoma. Posting my Newbie Dilemma in another thread and would love anyone's take on the situation (although it's personal preference for sure).

Shout out to Huntsville. Home of the 2nd largest research park in the United States, 4th largest in the world. Home to NASA, Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, CSC, etc...

    • Labeled America's new federal city by Government Executive - August 2010
    • One of Forbes top 10 smartest cities in the world - December 2009

Ok ok, I'll quit. But I saw the jokes on the first page so I had school some guys on us country bumpkins in Alabama!

Fixed! Thanks for the heads up!

Now if you guys will answer my dilemma question, we'll be in business. Would you give up the perfect inside and sacrifice the color you really wanted? Or give up your leather, interior color of choice, and dash styling to get the exterior color you want?

Obviously the perfect truck isn't an option so do you go for the perfect truck inside or outside?
