tacoma is the best

ok so we all know that our tacomas are the best vehicle on the road.
so what is it that makes the our tacoma's the best?
i will start the looks of the trucks are BA. and the suspension.

 

Well..... I'm at 160,000 miles and everything that came with the car still works.

Also these trucks are sexy

 

I think it's crazy that around here in the past 5 years tacoma's are beginning to be the majority of trucks around here, both 1st and 2nd gen. And are really the only trucks in the small truck class around here.

 

I see at least a dozen tacomas per day (both 1st and 2nd generation) around here... so I guess they are a pretty popular truck around these parts

I'm on Toyota #3.

First was an 86 Turbo 4Runner that was set up for the trail, custom lift (nissan/toyota leaf pack - longer than stock leafs = 22" travel). I LOVED that rig. 300K+ miles on it, much of it off road. Engine block finally gave and my coolant and oil decided to play together. I wanted to swap a 3.6L V6 into it, but I needed a vehicle NOW (was my only car), so I got #2 in the mean time.

Second was a 1997 5 lug Extra-cab. Great truck, 30+mpg, but I wanted a 4x4 so...

Third is my current rig, 2004 TRD Doublecab 4x4. LOVE IT.

I like it most of all because I got the newest year possible without getting the bigger body style. The 2nd gens IMO are too big, Tacoma should stay a compact truck. the 2nd gens are almost the size of the old T100's and early Tundras. If I wanted a full size truck, I'd buy a Tundra...

I'll always regret giving up the 4Runner a little, but I like the DC, I've got a family now, the 4 door is much better, and the A/C works!

 

my dad has an 87 with over 430k on the truck. original engine and trans. regular maintenance and no major over haul...

This may seem weird, but I like that the rear shocks don't connect to the axle at some protruding mounting point between the ground and the truck. Whenever I see that design on other trucks/suvs i imagine that shock mount just getting smashed on any kind of rock crossing, or anything more than 10" high.

 

one of the best things to me is walking out to my tacoma every morning knowing that its going to start plus ground clearance and how easy they are to drive

 

Everything about it. The looks, the durability and capability. IMO its just the all around perfect rig.

 

The resale value says it all. You know what a 02 Ford ranger or 02 Frontier goes for? hahhahahahahha. I shouldn't be laughing...I am in the market for a 1st gen DC.

 

x2 on size. ive owned all sizes of ford trucks. my first car was a 93 explorer, then a 2003 f150, then a 2005 f350 the back to the newer ford f150. this is my first tacoma and all i can say is its perfect.
easy to drive
decent gas mileage
bed in back
plenty of cab room(especially double cabs)
just a rugged ass reliable awesome pickup.
hands down the best all around functional vehicle made yet!
