no drag ass on the seat!

I don't really like the look of nerf bars but I think I may have to invest in some. With the ride height of my truck I find myself draggin ass to get out and I don't wanna ruin my seat. I don't like the bulky looking oval tubes any suggestions? Thinkin I want slim and black powder coat preferably!

Use the handle!

 

^^ ...The handle on the A post is nice for pulling yourself out...If you're having problems stepping out and dragging, then step bars won't help all that much, I'm guessing.

 

I hate nerf bars too and have been toying with getting the factory running boards. The wife sometimes has a hard time getting in and with an 8 month old who will eventually be walking and need to climb in herself it will make things easier on her. I like the naked look better but the running boards are clean and unfortunately will be much more practical than having nothing.

 

the black, flat, stock ones look better than round to me....

 

I like those avid ones and I use the grab handle on the pillar but its very awkward to try to clear the seat using it but that's what im doing for now! Thanks for the suggestions tho I think the avid is about what im looking for

 

What about some sliders.. dual purpose too. Avid makes great bolt on and weld on sliders. Custom fit and kick outs too if you want.

 

Do the sliders stick out far enough to step on?

 

Some do. The good thing is they're usually made to order so the fabricator could make it the way you want. Some tuck up very close to the truck and some have a little kick and might double as a step. The issue with using sliders is they're usually made to fit up high for clearance. One of the vendors does make a bolt on step for their round tube sliders. I can't remember which one though at the moment...

If you do go through Avid, visit the vendor section so you get the discount for being a member! From what I've heard, they are great to deal with but are a smaller shop which can mean wait times. Be patient, you'll get a great product but just know that up front or call him to get an estimate on the wait time.

 

Brandon at Avid is great. He will make you anything you want. If you want them lower for a step, no problem. majority of the trucks out here In Az have the sliders and everyones Is different. Some have big kickouts, some have them lower, etc. check out the az section and see all the guys with avid sliders. Our crown king picture thread has proof. You won't be disappointed with avid stuff. They are on my list of upcoming mods.
