My stock wheel where starting to peel and the aluminum was corroding like most of stock 17 inch do. I was playing with photoshop and decided to go with this last design. I sand blasted both sides, primed them with etching primer, painted both sides black, taped all the black, painted the silver than cleared it all. I also sand blasted my rear bumper and painted it black. After 4 long days of work this is what I ended with. O yea also a pic of my shinny skid plate that I polished this winter. Love this site for all the info and all the great rides.

Airplane paint stripper, sanding with 400 grit then 1500 grit ant buffing with a polishing wheel on a drill using mothers polish compound. It take a lot of hours and patience.

I really like it....your effort in the paint job paid off.

Up close it may not be perfect but I always feel that the "look" is best realized from a distance!

I think they will not last as long if you run then in the winter.

I refinished the same rims (off a 03 4runner) ..just blacked them out ...instead off buying steel rims for my winter tires....these are on my tundra

    Yours look way better...good job!
