My dog rides up front with me. He is way to small to ride in the bed being a 12 pound miniature Schnauzer. Ill roll a window down for him so he can stick his head out which he absolutely loves. And no need yo clean up any hair later because schnauzers don't shed.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
In the cab if hes clean, i have seat covers. But if weve been hiking or swimming and hes a dirty dog with that nasty smell, then bed it is, no way is he allowed in the cab then.

Before I had a cap they rode in the cab. Now that I have a cap they are always in the bed. The one time I put them in the bed w/o the cap they both jumped out before I even got out of the driveway. Probably safer just to keep them in the cab.

I have a truck cap with a beg rug installed. Dogs have a perfect place to ride safe and comfortable. If hot I just open the sliders to pump the air conditioning back there too.

I had leather seats put in special just so the dog hair from my two labs wouldnt stick. Sure does leave a hairball under and behind the back seat though.

Mine is usually in his kennel in the bed, unless were putting around the hills, then he runs side to side like a crazy dog.

good way to find out who loves you more is put your wife and dog in the trunk of a car for an hour or 2... open it up and see which one is happy to see you.

I throw down an old blanket in the back seat to keep the shedding to a minimum. Dog won't ride in the front seat for some weird reason.

In the cab! She's my copilot!

When the GF has to come along, Luna gets bumped to the back seats.

I put her in the bed once and she didn't really care for that.

Besides, I have a tonneau, so it would be kind of hard to keep her in the bed.

in the cab, i agree that leaving them in the bed while driving is to dangerous. I have a hunting dog and even if i leashed her to the D rings she would probably try and jump out while moving. Leashing the dog in the bed of the truck is super dangerous cause if they do jump out then your dragging the dog and or hanging the dog by its neck over the side rails. no thanks, ill keep mine in the cab

Dog rides in the bed for sure, and loves it. If she gets any indication we are going somewhere I have to ensure i put the tailgate down before letting her out the house or she will go all evil canevil and jump right over the side.

I think if you are going to have them ride in the bed you have to start young though. She has never shown any hint of wanting to jump out, just loves the wind and smells. I do plan to get a cap so she has more room to wander around though.. and a bed mat is a must for dogs in the bed.

yep, she is a lab mix. The rescue we got her from thinks lab pointer but we will never know. She is a crazy energetic dog that loves running after bunnies and pretty much anything that moves in the woods.

For short trips, she can ride in the bed. For longer trips on the highway, I have a dog platform at the back of my access cab, and one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Outward-Hound...58MA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313773422&sr=8-1

Cheap and easy, keeps hair off of everything.

I wouldn't be opposed to doing highway driving with her in a crate in the bed, but then I'd have to take my undercover off, and I usually need the bed cover to keep stuff dry & secure for long trips.

Also, if anyone else's dog gets car sick... For larger dogs at least, you can give them 1 dramamine tablet (confirmed by the vet) at least an hour before the trip. Worked like a charm for me, Sammie got sick all over the place before, now she gets a dramamine before any longer (hour+) car ride.
