    After the lift I noticed my gas milage SUCKS now. I drove from Chula Vista to Camp Pendleton yesturday with a 1/2 tank of gas, to and from the gas light was on :mad:. Any one else have that problem with gas milage? And what are some suggestions to gain back some milege?

    Have you calculated your MPG takeing into account for the larger tires? Being as there is more rotational mass (larger tires), and more vehicle frontal area, your mpg WILL decrease.

    For example, If your tires are 7% larger in diameter, add 7% to your odometer reading, then divide by gallons consumed.

    Ok. Im guessing the tires are about 11% larger than stock. Next fill up, add 11% to your odo, and check the mpg.

    Very good advice! I was very upset before I clued in to the fact I was driving further than I was told. Helps a little bit but the lift and the tires are still going to chew up your gasoline!

    265/65/16, Bilsteen 5100, Vault in armrest, Scan Gauge.
    2 questions:

    1. I have 5100 bilsteens shocks in front adjust to highest setting (2in). If i lower to 1in will my gas mileage improve?

    2. Will gas mileage be more for short bed vs. long bed? I have long bed and averaging mpg from fillup is 290 - light goes on. 300 - needle is on last notch. On the other hand, my friend have same truck but short bed and is getting 330.

    So does long bed makes 30 miles difference? Also, are you averaging 300mpg city? I only drive city.

    Lowering your shocks wont make that big of a difference. Maybe .5 mpg, more than likely less. Extra weight can make a difference in mpg, so maybe the short bed gets better mpg. Driveing in the city usually nets poor mpg, unless you drive a Prius.
