They are HUGE, not just big. The only vehicles that need a 2.5 Bump are unlimited class race cars and full size unlimited pre-runners. Save yourself the money and go with a 2.0. It will be more than enough for what you need.

Edit: keep in mind that the step from a 2.0 to a 2.5 diameter body is almost double the capacity, it would be beyond overkill on a Tacoma

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I have 3.0 bypasses and 2.5 bumps on the back a 4000lb truck. After about 20,000 offroad miles I thought I needed a rebuild and tore everything down. Nothing was worn. The oil was still fairly clear. Even after running laps in stoddard valley everything stays relatively cool. Could I get the same ground speed with single bilstein 2.0 emulsion shocks and 2.0 bumps? Probably, but how long would they last? Does my truck ride like an old caddy? yes, yes it does.

im running 2.5 bumps on the back of mine and it does a great job, definitely not overkill, although ive yet to use all 4" unless i hit something gnarly

Yes but you need to realize not many people on this forum drive like that. I ran 2.0 bumps on the old leafed truck and it was fine. He isn't going to be goin 80 down san filepe any time soon

I just saw those pics in the gallery, sweet truck man.

Like i posted in the gallery thread, i want to trade some of my "crawl" for a little more "haul ass"; but I don't want to give up having a winch.

So I'm going to build a tube bumper for the front, relocate the winch to the rear of the truck, on a plate between the frame, LT the rear end, and build a tiregate.

Yea, I want to - but I gotta figure out how to do it myself. As a matter of pride and the fact that the only fab shops out here are run by guys named Bubba

I don't miss a lot of things about California, but the offroading and supporting fab shops I definitely do.

I still need to lock it front and rear as well....

Ive always been in same boat and want a winch for when my LT truck is doing not so 2wd friendly things. I have always planned to do a front and rear receiver and put my winch on a plate so I could use in front or back. May be something for you to consider.

I've thought about that route as well, but I want a permanent install and ready to use quickly.

Anybody know of (or want to do it) somebody in the SD area that would weld on my frame box plates and a few other things for cheap? Need to get this stuff done asap, My fuel cell has been waiting to go on for over 6 months

I would leave that bumper on there. Looks way better than most tube bumpers I have seen

Linked my truck back in its DD days, no fuel cell either.

Stiffer coils in the front helped alot, but handles just as good as it did with leafs.
Then again I can 3 wheel it just about whenever I want, but it still handles great for a linked truck. o, and its also not caged either.

Just look at my pic vvvvvvvvv

Dan Vance has a TC kit with 14" of travel, and links with like 28" is what he told me.

I dont think that is really a bragging right. your telling me that you do gnar gnar 3 wheels in a half assed truck that is linked with no cage... i wouldnt be boasting about that. i would be ripping the interior out of my truck and preparing it to be done right. not talking like a blabbing balloon knot on the internet.
