    Check the tire manufacturers website. They will have an approved rim width for each size tire.

    Not the case for all tires. Each manufacturer is different. For instance duratracs are not approved for anything over 8.5" rims in their 265 width.

    Sidewall height also has an effect on it.

    Thats what i have are duratracs, so the widest i can go is a 16x8?

    As per the Goodyear website, the 265/75/16's are only approved for rims 7-8" in width.


    The 8.5" I referenced above is for the 265/70/17's.
