Steering wheel shake

Everytime I travel down a gravel road with some minor bumps and dips, I get this shake in my steering wheel like somthing is loose, or the suspension is weak. Its not a side to side shake is like an up and down.

Any ideas? Suspension, Ball Joints? The suspension is stock, and the ball joints were replaced when I had bought the vehicle.

 

Rag Joint?

There is a tsb for that where they will replace the intermediate & rag joint with a better version. I had mine done and it made a huge difference

 

You are driving on a gravel road. So pretty sure there will be some bumps in the ride and steering wheel.

 

Even for an 09 with almost 40k?

 

Probably wont replace it for free but you can call your dealership and ask about it, if not get the pt # from the tsb and order it up & put it in yourself. Easy job. Made that shake go away instantly.

 

I stuck a piece of plastic in the joint and all rattles went away. took me about 10 minutes and now i have no complaints when hittin the rough roads. I have heard somewhere on here of people stuffing i zip tie in it.

 

Bumps yes, but what he's talking about is a slop in the wheel where it feels like it is knocking around with some slack between the steering wheel and the front wheels.
Mine has done it since new. I drive on gravel, slightly washboarded roads every day and have become VERY familiar with this feeling.
