you can just use a toothpick to get in between the letters, poke at the dip enough to loosen and open up a hole for you to start and it comes off. That's what I did.

Texture came out uneven, but that's because I'm impatient and put like 4 heavy coats instead of a couple light coats first. Seems like it should last a while, I live down a dirt road so the next couple of weeks should be a good test against rocks and such.

Plati-dipped the surround on the back glass, the lock on the fuel door, and the 3 tabs on the left back window. Didn't do the right side because I had already been outside for and hour and a half in the sun while it's 102 degrees. I'll do the other side, the trim around the front windows, and my sideview mirrors tomorrow.

i dipped the chrome on my front bumper. to be honest, i'm not too happy with the texture. if anyone has ever used flat paint, the finish has a similar texture given enough coats. would i do it again, yes b/c it's cheap:p.

What are you guys doing to hand-wash dipped bumpers and badges? I have only read posts about pressure washers and car washes.

I just spray it reall god with a water hose, and everything comes off. If I use any type of rag or towel it leaves little fibers from the towel.

For those who do the valance, what happens when you get bug splatter on it from highway traveling?

I can also see it coming off goig through deep snow.

so far with my front badge dipped (5 coats), I've already put it through the wash (that one that has a bunch of rubber strips and slaps the vehicle lol), none of the dip came off. I assume the only real way to get it off is to do a deliberate rub where your intentionally trying to get the dip off.

I went over my badges and rear bumper after with a soft bristle washing mop. Held up and cleaned well.
